If you're playing 5 bowlers and Duminy, why the **** would you still pick Behardien?

Its time for Behardian to shut down the cynics.
Because he does do that every now and again and keeps in the team.... :(

Because Duminy's spin bowling is almost as bad as the way he plays spin nowadays.....

Truthfully with Faf injured only option is Morris instead of Behardein no other batsmen in squad...

They earnestly consider him to be one of the best batsmen available. This has been evident for a while. Selectors will point to the fact that he averages almost 40 at a strike rate of over 100 since the start of 2015.

I mean they're obviously wrong but it's not so much illogical balance as it just over-rating him.

To be fair, do they have many better options? Miller is hideously overrated, a genuine number 7 in international terms at best. Not exactly loads of SA batsmen banging down the door for selection.

Honestly their is a number of good batsmen but not big hitters and no batting allrounders. With Duminy bowling so badly we needed a no 6 that could bowl a few overs if needed and help finish off the innings... and Beherdian was doing that domestically and then did it internationally a few times... he still is a hack but gets the job done. If Duminy had not gone so far of the boil then Beherdian would probably not be in the team.

Lads spread on Behardian runs?

I will be optimistic and say 35 and out.

He is due!

Not watching but the only conclusion I can draw from seeing AB get 22(38) and De Kock 18(23) is that it must be another dull, slow as molasses pitch. Business as usual at the Caribbean then.

Maybe it might end up suiting Behardien for a change.

Pitch isn't that bad. It isn't a good pitch at all, really awful for viewing but Aussies have bowled great areas. Superb control.
