Is he worse than Behardien? The current gold standard for shitness.
Oh yeah definitely. Behardien is a complete hack but still useful in in some specific situations, and he's at least been successful in a reasonably strong domestic setup. Charles has somehow performed even worse domestically than he has internationally, in all formats.

PEWS, if he learns a bit of defence and sticking it out there (easier said than done), he can do some thing maybe. I mean he does have power.
You literally could've said the same thing about Steve Harmison or Stuart Clark. Charles is clearly better than those guys but you're not making a compelling argument.

To be entirely fair he actually did have a little period where he looked like he was improving.. but when you get picked on a hunch because someone thought you looked good and you proceed to look absolute garbage, you clearly have nothing going for you in terms of selection anymore. His opening partner averages 14 in 20 games so he's arguably not even their biggest problem, but he's a truly dire player.

Yeah he is ****. He has no idea of shot selections, doesn't have any patience. Just a bad EA cricket player like Furball said.

Deep Dasgupta and Shiv Sundar Das.

My God, we had some **** openers before Sehwag came onto the scene..
Deep Dasgupta wasn't even an opener though. Shiv Sunder Das had good defense and all but just didn't play any shots.

Good to have Starcy back! On the flip side, I'd forgotten Wade still plays for us.

Charles would be a better batsman if it wasn't for seam bowling and spin bowling.

Even then I'm sure he'd find some way to get out.

Why are WI pitches so slow and low-scoring? FFS, if you can't produce a half-decent team, at least don't make it such a torturous venue to watch cricket...

I'm quite glad to watch a one dayer where the batsman actually needs to work, rather than seeing bowlers seeing good spells disappear for 12+ runs an over just because.

Given Australia's record when the conditions are anything other than perfect, I wouldn't put failing to chase 100 past them.

100/8 in 27 overs is going too far the other way though.
It'll be easier to judge once Australia chase the total, but my instinct is that at the end of the match it'll end up with a case of it not being the pitch's fault that the Windies batsman are morons.

hmm I don't like this. It'll encourage the selectors to continue picking Nathan Lyon in the ODI side.
