This is exactly why I didn't get excited by the first ODI win which was a result of two outstanding individual performances. Phil Simmons is doing an excellent job with the fielding and general team spirit but the fact remains that non-sensical selection policies are stopping our ODI side from developing.
On what planet should Charles or Fletcher be opening the batting ahead of Kraigg Braithwaite or Evin Lewis, who both had excellent domestic torunaments? Kraigg can bat for a long time which will allow Bravo, Samuels and Pollard to play freely. Lewis is a no-nonesense batsman who played excellently in the warm up against SA.
There is no guarantee either Kraigg or Lewis would be successful but they've earned their pick and could not possibly be worse than Charles and Fletcher who are a complete embarresment. If they refuse to pick Gayle, Russell and Bravo they could at least make the most of what resources we do have left.
If they continue with this combination and policy our ODI team will mostly suck with Pollard, Samuels or Narine winning us the odd match here and there.
