Kapil and his captaincy were a factor in India winning the world cup . . . a major factor. India wouldn't have even reached the semi finals without one of the greatest innings in one day cricket ever and the highest score in the shorter game at that time - 175 not out from 17 for 5 and 78 for 7 !!

No. There was a case for kapil to retire a bit early, as a player, rather then keep pursuing Hadlee's wicket tally but as a captain he wasn't under any clouds.

He's almost 33 and he has told he would give up one format after the 2015 WC. Hopefully its the tests.

For any Kiwi fans panicking, fear not. Whenever I attend an away test match for India (Melbourne, Sydney, Lord's, Trent Bridge) the result is always the same - India lose. So most likely scenario is that India collapse tomorrow and then Fulton scores a double ton in the 3rd innings imo.
The curse is broken! India didn't lose #lookingonthebrightsideoflife

What a test match, went to every day and boy was the trip from Sydney worth it. Saw some great cricket over the 5 days, and in particular I witnessed one of the best rearguard innings ever under immense pressure...

Yep that Kohli ton was amazing. Oh and I also saw McCullum score 300

With Newzealand just about a twenty runs ahead and five wickets down in the second innings and a very new ball in the hands of his most successful fast bowler, why would you bowl with no slips, no gully, no one close catching anywhere, a long on, a deep mid wicket and a deep fine leg . . . in a TEST match !!

With all the problems about betting in the game, one wonders what the odds were on Newzealand drawing the game 110 runs in the arrears and the five top order batsmen back in the pavilion in the second innings with over two days to go . . .

How much money could be made for betting on a draw at that time ??

Conspiracy theory ??

Even after all that has been going on for the last two years ?
Junk posting. I swear you do this so often and no one calls you out on it.

Give NZ credit, don't call Dhoni and the rest of the team friggin' match fixers.

Happy for you to point out India's flaws in captaincy and personnel, but this is just rubbish.

basin reserve patrons please beware of the indian fan violently fapping on the hill
Haha I wasn't on the hill for his knock, stood right on the fence near the sight screen just cheering him on. He hooked a six right next to me, WAFG. So so happy that I saw him ton up live.

The atmosphere when Baz brought up his triple was amazing. Manage to share that moment on the grass bank with Heath

And with that, this will be my last post for a while. Gf has arrived in Wellington this evening and after attending 5 straight days of test cricket, its time to see the sights and possibly travel outside of Wellington too.

I'd like to thank all the Kiwi CWers (and Dan) who I met over the last 5 days. Its been an absolute pleasure, many thanks for your hospitality.

I have some photos on my phone of McCullum bringing up his triple (among other photos of the test). I've already promised to email them to Heath, but I'm happy to do the same for anyone else. Just let me know what your email address is via VM and I'll send you the photos. Can't promise that they are amazing quality but they've come out alright I reckon.

And finally, well played NZ. Thoroughly deserved to win the ODIs and tests. Thanks guys.

Top posting throughout, it's never easy when your side isn't winning. Just ask us Kiwi's, we've become pros at it :p

Yeah look, gotta go with what others have said.........this is an appalling post.

Mate if you can watch an incredible test match like that and witness one of the best comebacks of all time and your first thought is "it's rigged" then FFS give up watching cricket cos what is the point??

Congrats to NZ on a great and well deserved series win!!!
