WAG.

If only we had bowled NZ out for a lead of 300 or so, I think we could have chased this.

yeah. On this road, bowling first was the only chance any team had of forcing a result.

Need more pitches like the Eden Park one or the West Indies one.

Or I guess it could just be that both teams have batted well at stages.

Gaaaaame over. Petered out in the end but that is a great result for us. Career-defining match for McCullum. We're starting to look pretty good at home; give us a couple of openers and we'll be better again.

Think we should be very happy with a 1-0 over India here. They bowled fairly well and batted really well outside of one innings. Quality series.

Good from Fox Sports, the match finishes an hour early so they'd better cut to an episode of ICC cricket 360 instead of the presentation

So that's 3 out of 4 overseas games now where we've come agonizingly close to a victory. Really deflating.

Woohoo another test series victory for us! After years of always being 2nd best in most test series, It's great that we've turned the corner, at least in our own backyard anyway. Few issues to sort out before the WI series but we're becoming very tough to beat at home which is a good start.

I still like Dhoni. Probably not the best in terms of his team selection, but I think it's hardly his fault that he wields so much power there; the selectors need to take these decisions out of his hands.

where are the people who keep going on about how Dhoni doesn't give credit or w/e to the opposition? lol

I think what happens is that he only gets asked questions about the Indian team and what they did wrong because of the overwhelming Indian media. When you read quotes in articles it seems like that's all he ever talks about but yeah, he's pretty decent at giving credit to the opposition.

Well done NZ. Taking out one of the top 3 teams in cricket!! Looking forward to squaring off against u in a few months time in the Caribbean. Truly hope the WI selectors get their heads out their u know what and pick the team on merit (not politics) and hopefully our main players stay fit.

Well they obviously won't comment given he did give credit to them today. He was a lot less gracious in defeat in the ODI series and was fairly criticised for it.

WTF....HELL NO

My single biggest gripe with Dhoni is not giving the opposition enough credit. If he did it for once then good on him but he has a long way to go to make up for all the times that he hasn't given credit to the opposition

Dhoni has to be the most defensive Indian captain since Sunil Gavaskar. This Indian side is a revelation. For the young and inexperienced side they are, this team has not performed badly but one gets a distinct feel that with an Aussie or a South African leader they would have performed AND produced results.

India need a new captain in Tests more than they need in the odi's.

With Newzealand just about a twenty runs ahead and five wickets down in the second innings and a very new ball in the hands of his most successful fast bowler, why would you bowl with no slips, no gully, no one close catching anywhere, a long on, a deep mid wicket and a deep fine leg . . . in a TEST match !!

With all the problems about betting in the game, one wonders what the odds were on Newzealand drawing the game 110 runs in the arrears and the five top order batsmen back in the pavilion in the second innings with over two days to go . . .

How much money could be made for betting on a draw at that time ??

Conspiracy theory ??

Even after all that has been going on for the last two years ?
