Went to the ICC Test Rankings Predictor to see where this series win would get us, but it doesn't show this series. Have they already awarded it to us?

West Indies and SL in our sights now, especially when we next host Sri Lanka as would expect us to win that.

Predicting the Revised Test World Rankings by March 31 2014 | Bleacher Report

NZ will climb above WI, and Australia will most probably jump above India if they win the series in SA, which I'd say they're favourites for now.

Cool, good to see we're level with the Windies. Iirc with how this works, if we do any better than losing 2-0 (like last time) in the next series in the Windies then we'll go ahead of them.

Also did not expect that Neesham would outscore Latham in their debut.
Not that I want to dwell on the less good bits of this test but seeing Latham, as our next test opener, fiddle to be caught behind like that after getting in in the second innings was quite discouraging.

Neesham's ball striking is fantastic. How he fits into the side in the near future, and whether we want/need a spinner, are open questions though. Neesham is not at present the fourth best seamer in the country, but one option is to keep selecting him and expect him to develop into that.

A loss in concentration like that from a 21 year old is far less discouraging than the technical incompetency of Fulton and Rutherford.

Remember, Williamson still succumbs to those fiddles outside off stump, and even quality players like Watling and Pujara have done the same thing this series. It was a pretty good spell of bowling and sometimes pressure bowling induces mistakes like that. I wouldn't be too worried about it until it becomes a trend.

Reckon Jono slipped Davis a suitcase full of cash before the beginning of the days play to make sure this happened.

Sadly, Jono gave me no such thing. And I had to put up with him for part of a 4th day out of 5 of this Test match. For shame! Hurrrrumph.
