Congrats Pakistan. Excellent they've managed to pick themselves up off the floor after scandals etc, and actually perform better than they did in last year's series, despite no Amir or Asif.

As for us. Ugggggh

How many current international batsman have SRs under 40? Misbah is the international version of Joe Sayers. Only difference being Misbah is good enough to bore all day and actually has scoring shots but refuses to play them.

happy at the series but the tactics in the last were mind boggling can't see this team going forward with this mentallity.

I know it wasn't pretty, but I'm pleased with the series win. Four years is a long time to wait for it! It's a young, extremely inexperienced team being led by a new Captain. I don't see any reason to fault them. They consistently built sustained bowling pressure throughout the sessions, that too without their front-line bowlers. The batsmen didn't build on their starts, but they showed resolve and didn't have the customary collapse. All in all, I'm satisfied with the result. It's a good foundation to build from.

Well done Misbah, well done Waqar.

Bastards.
lol.........yeah Misbah has been a reasonably good captain so far.

and I like Waqar as a coach. Waqar used to be gun against NZ

absoloute ***** stuff these tactics will not take us anywhere as a team gutless from Misbah and co.
It might have been gutless and I agree but I don't blame Misbah. We still won the series if not this match. Had we lost this one trying to win it people would have come out blaming him for not winning the series.

Fusion, I agree with you 100% here.

Well done Pakistan. Not the flashiest of teams you've ever fielded, but certainly one with guts, patience, and plenty of effort. Misbah has been somewhat a revelation, and Riaz looks to have to tools to be a solid quickie. Not to mention you've got a solid pair of openers for once.

Still think you were lucky that Kaneh chose a bad day to **** off his captain though.

I'm surprised by this reaction. What did you expect from this team? Coming in to the series, did you even have them as favorites? I certainly didn't. This is a team missing its star players, very inexperienced, and led by a new Captain. I would say this result is nothing to be angry about. Let them gain some confidence first, and then we'll think about grander achievements.

they had already drawn two tests batting out the final day vs Steyn and Morkal this was an easier challenge a win here would have done wonders to the confidence of young guys like Asad Shafique and Azhar Ali.

Went down to the Basin this afternoon hoping to see, if not a win, then at least an exciting finish. Pretty disappointing. I know I shouldn't really expect much, but Vettori managing only one wicket, after Martin and Southee did all the hard work in the first hour, was awful. He's our best allrounder and everything, but he let the side down badly today, with poor bowling and worse tactics.

Gutted Marto didn't get over the line today. Really hope he sticks with it, and the selectors stick with him too. Deserves to get there after all he's done for the NZ side, and honestly, it's not like there's anyone barging the door down.

Well done Pakistan. Fantastic effort after a poor start. Other Pakistani sides (including the one we played last year) would've fallen over in a heap. They've made big strides forward.

So they drew against South Africa, and win 1-0 against NZ. That's progress. Baby steps my man. This is not the Pakistan of old. It will take some time to get that "fire" back. :)

200% they should have gone for it...drawing by 50 odd runs with 5 wickets in hand means clear cut calculation mistake imo...

Was hoping from an entertainment perspective that Pakistan would've made an attempt at the target in the final session, though I can understand their approach given their series lead. Not very ambitious but I guess it was a safe and effective option to secure an away test series win.
