I would leave the bowling line up tbh...Chris Martin only has a couple of tests left in him anyway so there will be room for a new guy. Arnel took four wickets and Southee showed that he has improved his consistency in where he puts the ball. He was actually unlucky to not pick up another couple of wicket tbh. Vettori does look rather average atm but he was the leading wicket taker in the last series and he has that whole mystery illness thing.
The batting is actually on paper stronger than our bowling and yet this is where the problem lies. McCullum looks at ease at the crease and i think him opening in One Day Internationals has contributed to the smooth transition and we will now start reaping the benefits. McIntosh really looked out of his depth in this test. His technique was rather dire I mean he wasn't even watching the ball onto the bat? Guptill is learning as he goes and his inability of using his wrists to Rehman to manipulate the field must improve if he is to be a number three. Its not ideal that our best performing batsmen Taylor/Vettori seem to be in a run drought atm. Reece Young looks ok and doesn't lack the confidence to put the bad balls away but i really can't see him averaging over 30 if he does get a consistent place in the side.
There is no real domestic players that look overly impressive atm to challenge these guys places anyway. Only Franklin and Tuffey have been considered. The only place i personally really want the selectors to be looking around for is an opener to partner McCullum. I think Mcintosh should get another say five tests and after that if he hasn't found some form of consistency then he should be dropped.
