*Official* - Pakistan in New Zealand 2010/2011

I would leave the bowling line up tbh...Chris Martin only has a couple of tests left in him anyway so there will be room for a new guy. Arnel took four wickets and Southee showed that he has improved his consistency in where he puts the ball. He was actually unlucky to not pick up another couple of wicket tbh. Vettori does look rather average atm but he was the leading wicket taker in the last series and he has that whole mystery illness thing.

The batting is actually on paper stronger than our bowling and yet this is where the problem lies. McCullum looks at ease at the crease and i think him opening in One Day Internationals has contributed to the smooth transition and we will now start reaping the benefits. McIntosh really looked out of his depth in this test. His technique was rather dire I mean he wasn't even watching the ball onto the bat? Guptill is learning as he goes and his inability of using his wrists to Rehman to manipulate the field must improve if he is to be a number three. Its not ideal that our best performing batsmen Taylor/Vettori seem to be in a run drought atm. Reece Young looks ok and doesn't lack the confidence to put the bad balls away but i really can't see him averaging over 30 if he does get a consistent place in the side.

There is no real domestic players that look overly impressive atm to challenge these guys places anyway. Only Franklin and Tuffey have been considered. The only place i personally really want the selectors to be looking around for is an opener to partner McCullum. I think Mcintosh should get another say five tests and after that if he hasn't found some form of consistency then he should be dropped.

Seems steep to me, at that much I would only go to 1 or maybe 2 days. Why pay $150 when I can just watch it on tv?
Costs about that if not more for 1 day at the test in England. Was just surprised that the guy in the article thought $10 NZ was appropriate. That's about the price of a McDonald's.

Incidentally, love how Mark Watson always gets singled out, even over the melodramatic "I'm a real man champ, and you are a DISGRACE!" Doug Golightly. He's like NZs homegrown Scaly, without the mocking.
Good form Flem, made me chuckle that

back NZ to win @ the basin Wahab and Gul are not the kind of bowlers who will enjoy these sort of conditions while Tanveer cant pick up wickets in any conditions.

Yup, in this latest test the batting was primarily the problem no doubt, so my timing about the bowling is **** tbh, but I'm just sick of a bowling line-up that is so so unlikely to ever pick up 20 wickets (Bangladesh aside), I just think we have nothing to lose in trying a fast youngster, if nothing else it might help in stopping lower-orders/tailenders putting on 800 for the last 4 wickets against us. I was rapt to see young Bennett get a crack against India for example, just a shame he got injured.

beginners luck.
lol, I can understand you Pakistani supporters underrating your team after some of the shocking performances & collapses in the last year or so, but when will you learn NZ (without Bond) is the one exception to this, Pakistan always >>>>>>>> NZ, to the point that they completely bully us :p Yet you guys always think somehow NZ are going to win

I want to disagree, but I can't bring myself to do it. After predicting doom in India the first two tests gave me a slight sliver of hope, and look what happened. Then I hoped we could do well against Pakistan, and look what happened.

I'm turning into Bahnz. Somebody shoot me.

I rate Adam Milne, but Boult and Bracewell are better bowlers at this point. Bracewell's outswinger makes me drool.
I really like the little I've seen of Bracewell, has future NZ player written all over em for me.

NZ to post 400 next test. Everyone to think they've turned a corner. NZ to collapse in Bangladesh in every game and lose the series, before piling on 700/4 dec. against Australia (Jesse Ryder 345* retired laughing).

It's how we roll.

I'd like to see him improve his numbers first. An average of 40 in FC and list A cricket doesn't exactly scream "pick me!"
