Or Tendulkar. 20 years of International cricket. 150+ tests, 400+ ODIs. Clean record. Bloody hell, he could kill a man and get away with it during his heydays.
Yea, well it doesn't excuse them either. I've never heard about Adam Gilchrist or Rahul Dravid or Michael Vaughan bar brawls and drunk fishing trips. Is that a coincidence?
These are really silly arguments. What's the point? Dravid is Dravid, Symonds is Symonds. Everyone is born with different inclinations, interests and tendencies. Flintoff, Ponting, Warne have also gotten themselves into trouble for various things in the recent past. What you're saying is basically "why cant person X be like person Y?" Well he can't - that's just the way it is.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with Symonds did. Maybe drinking and pubbing isn't a part of your culture. But it IS a part of Symonds'. So you gotta respect that, instead of being such holier-than-thou judges. I have friends in Scotland for whom going to a pub every weekend with their friends is just a long-standing tradition. As long as they don't start fights or act violent there's no issue.

Part of culture? Isn't Symonds catholic?
