Fair enough, but would it hurt him to stay in while things die down! No-one is suggesting massive life changes but come on, he just needs to use his brain a little bit. He must realise when he goes to a place "that is not recommended for a quiet night", that there may be one or two in there trying to get a reaction and a story out of him. I'm not suggesting he did anything wrong during the incident, but I don't think he should have been in a position where there could have been an incident!
It'll take a while to die down, considering all the s*** the news people give sports stars these days. But you are probably right in the fact that he should have stayed low, and everything could have gone away sooner. Now if he does another thing, he could be in a fair bit of trouble.

His recent disciplinary record suggests he does have to change, but only if he wants his international cricket career to carry on. If he's not bothered about playing for Australia, then no don't change.
Yeah, I guess your right. He should have never put himself in this situation to start off though.

As an isolated incident, I completely agree that it's bad he can't go out and have a couple of beers, and you can't not go out in case you come into contact with some idiots. And to have a go at Symonds with a load of rugby league players, he must have been a proper tool. It's just the timing of the incident, and the fact he knows how close he is to losing his career, to then put yourself in a position for something like this to happen is a little foolish, imo.

Exactly right. You'd think he would have learnt from the fishing trip, and all the other things he has done. If he wanted to have a quiet beer, why didn't he let the rugby players over his house for a couple of beers?

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
The first test, I must admit, was pretty boring, IMO. While there were some good catches, and good bowling, there was no real big shots. Was longing for someone to come out and hit the bowlers around the park.

Second test coming up. Hopefully better then the last.
I have found the seemingly endless supply of tests played on flat pitches boring. The last Test was the most interesting one I've seen in a long long time because batsman actually had to fight to score against some difficult bowling.

for sure, if anything, total domination via the bat makes things more boring.. my respect for Katich has gone up tenfold in the light of that last knock

Spot the lily-white, horse-riding, upper-crust, toffee-nose. Much like union, a good percentage of the Samoan and Tongan teams were former Kiwis who were actually born in NZ. Shouldn't they be able to play for who they want, rather than being compartmentalised by the colour of their skin?

Samoa
George Carmont - born Auckland
David Faiumu - born Wellington
Ali Lauitiiti - born Auckland
Harrison Hanson - born Auckland

And that's just the first four names from the Samoan list that I've Googled. I'd happily Google a few more, but I think my point has been comfortably made.

You're not related to Stephen Jones or Eddie Butler, by any chance?
Top post Voltman. Spot on and could not agree more.

Yeah. Was pretty pissed off at him while he was doing it but in hindsight it was a special knock. Full credit to him.

Apparently it happened during high catching drills. Who was hitting the balls, I wonder??

This sums up the situation in Oz media perfectly

http://www.smh.com.au/news/sport/cr...future-in-doubt/2008/11/25/1227491548319.html

Symonds did nothing wrong, has been cleared and so the journo that started the rumour now looks like a fwit

His response: Symonds career in balance, team-mates upset, blah blah blah

What a load of horse-****

If his team-mates were upset, then why were 4 of them in the bar with him?

BTW, Symonds left before the others but there's been no word on whether they got home early or late, drunk or sober, or with their wives/girlfriend or a random stray

Guess that's not important when your aim is to assassinate somebody else's character
Character assasination? Lol, a week after the guy says he has issues with alcohol he's seen in a bar with a bunch of tool league players. Yeah, he does nothing to elicit any sort of negative response from anyone.

But no, let the resident Symonds dick rider try and absolve all blame from the guy yet again.

Fully agree with the above. Hanging with rugby league players is painful.

FYI, Symonds has been absolved of all blame by CA

Maybe you'd realise that if you pulled your head out of your arse for even a nanosecond
