Federer one game away from his 13th grand slam title. What a great hitback from the champion two weeks after losing his number 1 ranking. Greatest of all-time? He's proven it right here.

What a hero, great win for Feds, would love to see this as the start of the resurgence, would be fitting if he wins the Aus to equal Sampras and then wins the French finally to break the record of most slams.

well jankovic made it more competitive than i thought it would be, but for me there was never any doubt about the outcome of the match so it was kinda boring for me...
Well there are lot of matches that you know the outcome already yet they can be a lot more entertaining.

For my money in the 2008 US OPEN, Women's Final >>>>>>>>>> Men's Final.

Dream come true if that happens.

Outstanding stuff from FedEx - to beat Murray comprehensively after having a dog of a year shows true character. He knows he is not at the top of his game but has finally found a way to win a Slam this year.

Judging by the number of times Rafa adjusts his shorts during a match, am hoping he develops some sort of rash on his ass just before the French Open next year ruling him out and allowing Fed to cruise to his first French. Only saying this cos Rafa is invincible on red soil.

entertainment is subjective, what is fun for you may not be that much fun for me...:)

Wow, Federer didn't waste that opportunity did he?

Murray looked a bit off, I guess the victory over Nadal took its toll. Federer had that extra day to rest, and although he didn't play remarkably well, he wasn't anywhere near ready to lie over for Murray, not in a Grand Slam final and not after the year he's been through.

All told, Federer proved he's a champion and not the beneficiacy of a weak era for men's tennis. He looked comfortable playing as the No.2 seed.

Well I was talking about the Quality of Tennis Played in the two finals and IMO, Women's final was easily of much higher quality than the Men's final.

That would be fantastic.

Credit to Murray though. Not easy to make a Grand Slam final, especially getting past the world no. 1.

you can say it was more of a battle than the men's match, you can also argue that it made for more compelling viewing because of that(not so for me but i would be able to see where you are coming from) but as to quality, women's tennis is eons behind the men's and serena williams at her best would be beaten quite handily by a guy ranked 50 on the atp tour...

You don't like Serena though. You say the same thing every time she plays (and generally wins)! The exact same predictability existed with Henin in 2003 and at various French Opens.

That would be the greatest thing in tennis history, and I will be cheering Roger on if that's possible, even if he plays Rafa in the final.

Agreed. You know its in a weak state when players like Ivanovic are number 1
Actually you know womens tennis is weak when Elena Dementieva was two wins away from being world number 1, im 100% serious when I say if i played a match against her I'd go close to breaking her serve.

Actually would be the greatest thing in history. Although if he was playing Haas in that final theres no way I'd be cheering for a Roger win, he could hold off for 2010 in that case.
