Dont agree with that and, IMO, Keene is a poor signing. But cant be bothered arguing. Its obvious Crouch isnt rated by a lot of people. At the end of the day, Keane > Crouch. Liverpool have done alright.
Well you may as well pay the extra cash on somebody worth it, rather than waste 20 million on an above average player that isnt better than anything you already have.I very much doubt any team will be getting Eto'o or Villa for anything under 30m.
Agree with much of this. The signing is totally based on a partnership with Torres, if they click it's a brilliant signing, if not it's a waste of money. Simple as, really. Unlike other signings mentioned there's no need to adjust to the prem, either. Which most agree is a totally different style (if not quality) then other leagues on the continent. If he helps Torres better his goalscoring tally of last year and scores twenty himself, that could help them to silverware.I certainly can't argue the point as well as others, but imo it boils down to how well either player can assist Torres, and I think Keane will be much more suited to playing alongsige Torres than a Crouch. I suspect RK will sit in behind Torres, much in the same way Gerrard was doing from time to time last season, running ahead of the midfield with the wingers. It strengthens the midfield, and gives Rafa another option he previously didn't have with Crouch.
Aside from that, I think Keane has a better claim to being an established Premier League goal scorer than Crouch, with the latter only once passing double figures in a PL season, compared to 7 times for Keane.
Only because he's always on the treatment table.Such as Louis Saha? Yes imo.
That's ridiculous. Keane > Saha otherwise too.Only because he's always on the treatment table.
No.That's ridiculous. Keane > Saha otherwise too.
I like to think I'd get a few in the net if I had Ronaldo, Rooney, Scholes etc giving me service. If you want to find out who the best strikers are, stick them in the Tranmere side when Shuker is injured (I say when he's injured, because he is actually better than Ronaldo tbf) and see if they make double figures for the season.Actually, if you're only counting the times that they're actually fit, I'd say Saha is better than a lot of the top strikers around. I did the maths a while back to figure out how many goals are scored per minutes played and he came out better than a bunch of the better PL strikers.
But, of course, "If Saha is fit" is a really big "if".
