Good value IMO. This is Sunderland we're talking about. Decent players all of them and Sunderland could use some support for Jones.

Liverpool apparently interested in signing PSG youngster David N'Gog. Anyone know much about him?

As Camps has already said that isn't really a bad bit of business at all. All of them are decent, solid players who could certainly do a job at Sunderland.

Lots of pace and he destroyed England U-19 last year with two stunners – had the Sky commentary team salivating and caused the old diatribe to come up as to why none of "our" players can play like N’Gog (or indeed the French).

Hmm, itstl. Sort of makes you wonder, if he isn't so crash hot, just how much chasing an overpriced Barry (imo) is really going to cost Liverpool in terms of other signings.

Dunno, but apparently the only way they can finance a deal for Barry is to get rid of several other players, so I doubt they'll be making many more signings.

I'd Lol if he now joined Arsenal after all this seemingly endless saga.

He may well turn out to be a revelation yet, but I have seen him a bit and don't rate him from what I've seen.

I agree that Barry is overpriced. He'd be a useful signing for Liverpool, would improve their midfield, but that isn't the area that needs improving most, and (IMO) there are better midfielders around for cheaper, anyway.

He's a teenager for crying out loud! It's not like he's evidence of Liverpool scraping the barrel. Clearly he's an investment in the future.

Obviously it is an investment for the future, but I was was more going on what Halsey had said in that he wasn't impressed with what he'd seen of him. My point still stands re: Barry though, afaic he's overpriced, and could well cost Liverpool the chance of snaring a better players.

I should hope so, because IMO he's definitely not ready as it is. And I'm not convinced that he's ever going to amount to anything either, tbh, given how distinctly unimpressive he has been, but of course you never can know this for sure. As I said, he may turn out to be a revelation in a few years time.

Brad Friedel is dead to me.

Anyhow, I just bought a few weeks worth of tickets for my new team in China. I live a good hour and half away from them in a completely different city and unfortunately they seem to be one of the worst sides in the Super League but I'll check them out for a few weeks and if they are any good or if its a good laugh then I don't mind making the journey and it will probably beat following my boys online this season.
