Good finishes in prospect at Bristol and Old Trafford, both rather better than the game on Sky anyway.

Surrey out of it now, I'm going to be supporting Kent in the FPT from now on. ;)

Ramps at the Rose Bowl tomorrow, remember - wish I was going, even though the weather is set to deteriorate.

Shaky start from Lancs there, should've settled down, but still, not our usual batting depth, could prove tricky.

Good team display from Durham... Still as long as we beat Yorkshi*e.

Oh and apparently Lancashire's score has been boosted by 4 runs since I last looked.

Interesting to see Durham with only 1 English born player in their top 5 and only 3 in the top 8.

Yorkshire showing the way with 8 of this games XI born in the White Rose county itself.

Aye, not unusual for Yorks to lead the way in that respect though is it?

The way things have been going this season, I propose merging the English and South African Domestic Competitions...

Bad day for Lancs, could have expected our bowling to struggle with Flintoff, Anderson, Chapple, Hogg, Smith and Newby missing, but it was the batting, which should have been strengthened with Croft in for Flintoff, which struggled. Pitch inspectors called in though.

Hopefully we'll get a decent total second up then skittle them. Our batting has been thoroughly dire so far this season

If he bowls well all summer and stays fit, do you think he has a chance of going to India in the winter?

If he (Simon Jones) bowls well all summer and stays fit, do you think he has a chance of going to India in the winter?
Good question. Easy answer is that there's so little chance of him staying fit that it won't arise anyway. Beyond that, now that we're a 4-man attack, the thought of SPJ being one of those takes a huge leap of faith. Then you think about the possibility of Fred and Jones being half of a four-man attack and start losing sleep over the matter.

But yes, if he does stay fit and takes loads of wickets, I could see him touring, if only because the alternatives aren't obvious. Clearly Moores doesn't fancy Hoggard nowadays, and Harmison just looks completely shot. Tremlett's fitness record is dire. So who else is there?

Gotta be Tremlett IMO. Bowled really well against India last summer.
I'd normally agree, and I think pretty highly of Tremlett (I rate him higher than Broad on bowling alone for the role he plays) but I'm not sure how successful he would be in the subcontinent. I don't think the typically slow and low surfaces would really suit him - unless of course the pitch broke up and the ball was going through the top.
