AgreedReally think they should've called them the Kolkata Knights. Would've worked so much better.

Though they exaggerate a bit regarding Ganguly's comfort with the short ball, and the bit about Akhtar 'throwing spears' is priceless.Lol @ Ponting's profile on the Knight Riders website!
"A night with a 'win at any costs' attitude". Wonder if he's read and approved this!
I think that's when the full squad is released. It's the deadline for it anyway. That site says 6 days some thing left
What do they mean by that..the ipl sart in APR 18 rite not MAR 18 ????
Yeah, me too. Makes the ICL look like total crap. Can't wait to see the kits and sites of the other franchises.Though they exaggerate a bit regarding Ganguly's comfort with the short ball, and the bit about Akhtar 'throwing spears' is priceless.
But they've got player profiles, TV commercials, anthems, professional kits, etc. I'm very impressed with this organization. It's already more professional than the BCCI.
And poor Ajit on the rightI like how they have the helmets pretty much in order of how important the players are to the franchise. Ganguly in the middle being the most important with Ponting and Ahktar either side of him. Poor old Tatenda on the far left!
Well by virtue of the teams being run by succesful people, by default you could see how much more professional they are than the BCCI.But they've got player profiles, TV commercials, anthems, professional kits, etc. I'm very impressed with this organization. Agreed. The people who bought the team are mostly successful private business owners, so they know how to be professional and how to market their product. Compare that with BCCI, who are run by politicians and lifelong members of the khaki brigade, and have no idea how things work outside of a governmental beurocracy.Well by virtue of the teams being run by succesful people, by default you could see how much more professional they are than the BCCI.
Also with the amount of money invested in their franchises they're not going to leave any opportunity to impress go to waste. Kolkota has set a pretty good benchmark with their site and other gimmicks, hope it's a catalyst which gets all the other teams trying to outdo each other.
i understand that they wanted to accomodate everyone but is the loosening of the 8 overseas players per franchise limit good? The day's signings left Bangalore, Kolkata and Jaipur with nine overseas players in their ranks, one more than permitted under IPL rules. However, Cricinfo has learned that the IPL management agreed to relax the rules to accommodate as many players as possible.
"Yes, Bangalore and a couple of other teams do have nine foreign players," Charu Sharma, the Bangalore franchise's chief executive, told Cricinfo. "There were good reasons for having an eight-man limit, but with some of the players contracted by the IPL [like Ashwell Prince] still available, there was mutual agreement between the franchises that a ninth man could be chosen, if needed."
I am torn on the issue. As long as they don't increase the # of overseas players that can play in the XI to more than five (six at most), I think it's fine. It's at four now, so most of the side will still be Indian players getting some good experience against top quality opposition.i understand that they wanted to accomodate everyone but is the loosening of the 8 overseas players per franchise limit good?
5 sounds about right. 4 is just one too few...I am torn on the issue. The website is great. As a (yet) neutral fan, it goes a long way in making me follow their team over others!http://kolkataknightriders.com/
The knight riders site.
You have got to hand it to SRK and red chillies entertainment.Their launch was the best, they have locked in sponsors, they have unveiled their kit from reebok and they are already are planning the off the field revenue generating activities too.
Hyderabad Hanumans? They should've named it Mumbai Monkeys instead.
Bangalore Bajrang Balis?Hyderabad Hanumans?
Personally, I would like the number of overseas players to be a little higher and to that they could account fellow Asian cricketers as non-overseas signings.I am torn on the issue. Bangalore (onion) Bhajis has a good ring to it.Bangalore Bajrang Balis?
