These names are, for want of a better word, truly dire. What was wrong with just the place names? If I was from Delhi, I'd be much more happy supporting 'Delhi' than 'Delhi Daredevils'. Even Indian names would have been preferable, instead we have mimics of American sports teams that quite clearly have been created by people miles out of tune with what constitutes a decent nickname.

Oh and that website is equally laughable. How can you take a team seriously that talks about itself like that? Very flash and all, but I'd much prefer a simple but informative site... that just smacks of a hit-and-giggle event which is what this shouldn't be with the talent on show.

In 20T, 1 or 2 guys can change the game in a matter of few overs .... But i guess that Del and Mum appear to be the top 2 sides in no particular order .... Del has some 4-5 kep players from the 20T WC finalists [Ind and Pak], along with Mcgrath and Vettori .... Mum has some experienced explosive players, and if one of them has a good tournament then it's party time for Mum

Not having McCullum open at the moment seems pretty bloody ridiculous and not playing Ross Taylor also seems to be a pretty silly thing not to do. Has a T20 ton for goodness sake.

It is clearly being marketed as a global event and I think it makes perfect sense to name the teams that way. Also all these teams are based in major cities of India where the urban population is more comfortable in communicating in English than in their native language. A Delhite is more at home with names like 'Delhi DareDevils' than something like 'Delhi ke Jungbaaz' . I mean they make no sense to people who do not understand the local language.
