He bowled 2 innings in Pakistan, hardly enough sample size. I just don't hold those 4 years against him like you seem to do.Spanked in Pakistan. But anyways the rest of the decade was pretty quiet for him, no real big budget performances he was known for in the early 90s.
SA I concede. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Ambrose's 90s vs Pak and RSA he was good overall.
Right I tend to form my own opinions regardless of who they agree with rather than base it off others. On matters relating to Ambrose, Ashwin, Kallis and Lara, Yes.
A legit ATG innings in a 3 match Series..... I don't think there's anything to complain here. SA is fairer, though only one series was poor, the rest 2 were fine really.Great innings does not negate the performance overall. However it was only 3 test, so I choose to ignore Pakistan. He was poor vs RSA though even with a couple great innings.
Yeah there isn't, his record vs SA is great including a match winning performance and like Sachin, he had a bad debut series against Pakistan but averaged 23 otherwise. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Ambrose's 90s vs Pak and RSA he was good overall.
Now now, No need to fight me rn.Right I tend to form my own opinions regardless of who they agree with rather than base it off others.
Blind average reading again. Check the context of the series to see how he did in the 90s.he had a bad debut series against Pakistan but averaged 23 otherwise.
That wasn't intended as hostile, just matter of factual, sorry if it came across that way.Now now, No need to fight me rn.
Averaging 33 vs RSA isn't middling stop the absolute bs. Ambrose's Pak/RSA record>>Sachin vs both. People mention Sachins innings but forget the match winning spell Amby bowled vs RSA in 1992 after they returned to tests. Completely saved our tail or the 4 for vs Pakistan in the 93 1st test. Pak bowled us out for 120 odd, we were on the back foot and Ambrose and Bishop absolutely delivered.I never said Ambrose was poor. I would call him middling versus Pakistan. You could argue Tendulkar was the same vs SA.
Notice how you are able to zero in on a single key Ambrose performance to consider his 93 series salvageable, yet Tendulkar plays an ATG innings in his 99 series against Pakistan and you dismiss that series.Completely saved our tail or the 4 for vs Pakistan in the 93 1st test. Stop whitewashing Ambroses Pak record. It was middle of the road especially given his 97 series is arguably the worst by any ATG bowler in their prime and worse than anything Tendulkar did.Ambrose's Pak/RSA record>>Sachin vs both. People mention
Tbf Ambrose averages 17 with 14 wickets in 3 Tests. Yeah, it was a much more bowler friendly Pak than Average and he didn't set the stage in fire, but as a series think it's definitely better overall.Notice how you are able to zero in on a single key Ambrose performance to consider his 93 series salvageable, yet Tendulkar plays an ATG innings in his 99 series against Pakistan and you dismiss that series.

Wrong series we are talking 93 in WI. 9 wickets in three tests.Tbf Ambrose averages 17 with 14 wickets in 3 Tests. Yeah, it was a much more bowler friendly Pak than Average and he didn't set the stage in fire, but as a series think it's definitely better overall.
Recovering from injury.Warne 99
Not much.Btw do think Amby's Avg vs Pakistan is a bit inflated
