Who is second greatest odi batsman after viv?

Yes, ideal scenario would've been another superover, or by group stage rankings, or by head to head in the tournament yada yada
Another super over is fair, other two are even more ridiculous (pretty sure you're just joking; but yeah, boundary count was pretty stupid imo)

Anyway works, the rightful winners won and we got the greatest white ball game of all time in the process, what more can I ask for, I was running outside my house without a shirt when England won.

so yes, perfect moment.

Lol can't believe it was 5/6 years ago. @capt_Luffy was a teenager back then.

India was hosting the world cup for the first time in a decade and a large percentage of people had TV and this tournament was a big reason in making Sachin popular. When the rest of the team was failing, he was the one big exception and gave hope to an entire nation.

I rank both of Tendulkar's 1996 and 2003 campaigns higher than Kohli's 2023 comfortably, not just because of the % of runs Tendulkar scored, but just how much faster he was than everyone else too. Kohli's SR was a lot slower than the rest of the team's SR on the other hand.
One could argue Rohit had just as good as a wc as Kohli did in 2023 (if not better), but gets underrated imo.

Viv is not the best imo. He was way ahead of his time in the era he played in (when ODIs were a relatively new format) but that doesn't necessarily make him the best "ever".

Kohli has played 295 ODIs (50 tons)
Tendulkar played 463 ODIs (49 tons)
Viv played 187 ODIs (11 tons)

The best ever is either Kohli or Tendulkar. They both have a stronger case than Viv imo.

With due respect, I like most of your posts but can't disagree more with this one. I don't think any of those performances are as good as Kohli in 2023 (especially 2011, 96 is the closest), which is arguably the very best World Cup performance Ever. Kohli crossed 50 in 9 of his 11 innings, with 3 centuries and 2 80s @95...... It truly was special.
With lowest strike rate among indian batsman. Almost everyone scored at 100+ except Kohli (90+).

No.. Kohli was a slow scorer compared to Sachin, Viv and AB.

Sachin - longevity, exceptional avg, exceptional SR, iconic performances, exceptional century ratio, one man army in 90s, he was an anomaly too like Abbas and Viv ( among openers until 96 WC.. When he was striking at 95, every other opener in the history stayed below 80 )
