You are wasting too much time on it. I am not going to go into an invetigative research into it all with more posts on the matter by you regarding it. Not because I cant prove you wrong. You first said you never said such a thing and I quoted a quote which was specifc and to the point. It elucidated a specific.

So you went on to say 'out of context' from the makin things up line.

And this is definitely my last post on the topic....

No, you provided an out of context comment from 3 months after I'm alleged to have said something I didn't say.

Then go on about my folly (!)

Martyn is the best batsmen in the Australian team, though i preferred the attacking Martyn of a few years ago to the one now. He was a brilliant attacking batsmen until Steve Waugh got to him.

Ponting may have a better average but he's bloody boring to watch, he's a clone of so many other test batsmen going around these days, no style whatsoever.

Personally, I don't find Ponting's strokeplay nearly as easy on the eye as some others in the side.
I take it you didn't watch the Tsunami match?

Also, that six he hit off Flintoff in the Natwest. Awesome!

If I had to choose between watching a Ponting or a Martyn hundred, I'd take Martyn every time. But I'd still pay to see a Blewett century *drools*

Haha yeah... Blewett and his cover drives were something else.

Sure, but to suggest he's a clone of other batsmen is ridiculous, given that his technique is almost unique among every batsman I've ever seen. I'd rather watch Martyn or Katich or Gilchrist score a century.

Yup, Katich is right up there too. I think I have a thing for watching batsman who are really still - which Ponting isn't. A lot of people don't find Katich attractive to watch, and find him (or Martyn) too "boring" :glare: . Doesn't mean Ponting isn't a good batsman, because he isn't very still - and I wasn't saying he was a clone either, it's fair to say that's way off the mark.

Katich IMO is Australia's best batsman, however he is crap to watch - ugly at the crease.
I don't mind watching Ponting, especially when he struggles early, its funny, but then after he settles it is all class. Its a nice mix, whereas Katich always looks like he's struggling, but (usually) always plays the right shot.

Martyn is by far, the easiest batsman to watch in the Australian side.
