I didn't say that did I! Why don't you try listening hals, you'd get a lot less after-schools. I just said it was quite funny especially when he raised his bat when he was dismissed.

I didn't really see a lot of Such so that comment was probably unfair, though I do remember seeing him make 0 from 53 balls.
51 balls... and a brilliant duck it was, too.

Wasn't it the 2nd longest Test duck ever or something? And Adil, I've only had one this year. :D
Indeed it was, Geoff Allott's marathon effort being the longest.

And as arguably the only man to ever receive a standing ovation for making two whilst batting at number four, I have great respect for these men.

So,is Harbhajan Singh the best spinner of all time?He is certainly not in Murali,Warne ,Kumble,Saqlain,Laker,Mushtaq,Abdul Qadir,Benaud category. If I say that Bhajji belongs to the category of average bowlers, whats wrong in that?

MOhd Sami (c)
Ajit Agarkar (vc)
Rana Naveed
Batty
Mohd Khalil
Asoka Desilva
How can one get offended by the above post is beyond me? 8-)

I entered the names of eleven players, most of them happened to be Asians. 5 players happen to be from Pak, 2 from India and 1 each from SL and Bang. Just because most of the players happen to be from Pak doesn't give the right to anyone to become so touchy. And if i named a Pak player as the captain, then i also named an Indian player as the vice captain!!

Anyway just to please an annoyed member i have made some alteration in my side,

IMran Nazir
SS das
Mike Brierley
Khalid Mahmood
P Patel
Ajit Agarkar (C)
Sami (vc)
VP raju
Batty
Asoka desilva
Rana Naveed.

which changes the fact that he was rubbish then and was rubbish when he played against india in his only test how exactly?

really? i find it amusing how richard dawson who averages less than hauritz in FC cricket and has 5 5 wicket hauls as opposed to hauritz's 0 is worse than him.

your point is? whether or not i defend the wicket does not change the fact that hauritz should have had far better figures than 2/87 when he bowled at the top order on that pitch. and his figures on that pitch were horrible.
a. 21 - 22 is ridiculously young for a spinner to play test cricket yet he achieved admirable figures against the commonly acknowledged finest players of spin.

b. County cricket vs bowling spin on the Gabba. Might as well be 2 different sports.

c. Agreed but he also dismissed Tendy and Laxman, 2 of the world's best players

Hahaha...

So if someone isnt the best spinner of all time, they are average?

I dont think so. Harbhajan is most certainly a better bowler than Giles, who you described as average as well.I really dont think you can say that a side wins matches due to their average bowling!

Sami's one day record:
ODIs 70 3471 2856 102 5/10 5/10 28.00 4.93 34.02 3 1
That is a very impressive strike rate and average at international level.

If you ignore his premature test career Naved's record is also eye catching
ODIs 31 1549 1353 55 6/27 6/27 24.60 5.24 28.16 2 1 0
Twenty-20 Int. 5 96 108 4 2/17 2/17 27.00 6.75 24.00 0 0 0
First-class 73 14620 7967 345 7/49 23.09 3.26 42.37 20 3
List A 84 4070 3338 133 6/27 6/27 25.09 4.92 30.60 5 2 0
Twenty-20 5 96 108 4 2/17 2/17 27.00 6.75 24.00 0 0 0
Taking into consideration your signature I think you're a bit sour after the last ind-pak series.

admirable figures? 2/87 in the same conditions in which clarke took 6/9? come off it. like it or not age does not change the fact that hes rubbish.

bowling at the gabba is definetly comparable to bowling at headingly. and i'd think hauritz has had plenty of chances to bowl outside the gabba and has failed miserably everywhere.

yes after getting hammered all over the park and pretty much costing his team the game.
odds are that if you and i bowled spin on that wicket, we would have eventually dismissed tendulkar and laxman.

The average is pretty mediocre for a specialist bowler in ODIs. His ER is poor for a specialist bowler.

No Test team who fails to chase just over 100 in any Test can blame its bowlers for the loss. I don't care how bad the deck is, with the exception of one which has been rained on (obviously not a factor any more). Even on the WACA in 1997 against the WI on a deck which had cracks big enough to lose shoes in, Australia still managed almost 200. The blame for the loss in India rests squarely with the batsmen.

Laughable.

For the proper nations, Hauritz by a mile. There was also this guy who played for the Windies in there 96-97 tour to Australia, who slogged, slashed and nicked his way to what must have been the luckiest 50 ever in test cricket, although at least he made one. I forget his name, he was a no 3 bat I think. Patterson Thompson was pretty bad as well, as is/was Paul Adams
