What would Ashwin and Jadeja's records look like if they debuted a decade earlier?

Average of home and (away+neutral) matches:

Ashwin - 25.35
Jadeja - 26.59
Kumble - 30.37

Average of averages in every country they played in:

Ashwin - 30.49
Jadeja - 31.72
Kumble - 34.03

Ashwin and Jadeja have their issues but I wouldn't chose Kumble over them, home or overseas.
Yeah those raw averages are meaningless.

Average of averages ? 🤔
It is the mean of how they performed in individual countries, rather than just home vs away split.

Not a foolproof method or something, but rewards consistency across variety of conditions.

There are sample size issues of course. If Jadeja plays another series in NZ, he might improve his average there. On the other hand, his average might worsen in Australia.

Yeah those raw averages are meaningless.
You want to demean them and attribute all their success to pitches. Do that and sleep happy.

I am happy that India continues to rout all opposition at home on back of their performances.

Why the **** are you carrying on with this agenda of demeaning both of them and thereby India's dominant home record this decade? Do you get pleasure out of this and masturbate every night at the thought of trolling Indians successfully?

Are they at least weighted, or just raw? So if a bowler averages 20 in one country over ten Tests, and 40 in a other country from a single Test, is his average of averages 30?

You sound triggered my friend. I apologize I got you so worked up. If you were that happy, this thread shouldn't upset you so much.

This is a sincere inquiry to determine the degree to which pitches determine performance.

We already know the answer to this...

They are raw, and it is a flaw with the methodology I agree. Mentioned Jadeja's example too in my earlier post.

Steve Smith’s average of averages: 66.29
James Anderson’s average of averages: 27.55

Holds up imo.

Nothing sincere since no one can measure such a degree. It is just your vendetta.

Yes, I am happy that India wins. But I am upset that a troll like you is allowed to continue trolling in this forum while other guys get banned for starting tour threads or saying Cummins should bowl first change.

Apology accepted if it is sincere.

And I am putting you on ignore. You are the first person in my 10+ years in this forum that I put on ignore. This is for me to have some peace and to not stop coming to this forum. You can take it as an achievement.

That's unfortunate. You have some good posts and we have had some good exchanges.
