What happens to Bazball if Australia wins the Ashes ?

Head has scored like three hundreds or close to on raging greentops in the last 18 months
Not against our attack he hasn't- look we'll see won't we. You think he'll go well, I think he's got it all to prove.

His away record in tests is laughably poor, he averages under 22.

Buy hey he'll be fine against our seam attack in helpful conditions.

To be fair, he didn't open for Sussex so wasn't really exposed to the new ball. Averaged 18 with a best of 49 not out which did wonders for that average!! Obviously, if he does replace Warner at the top, he'll be fine coz he got some runs in Australia in the middle order.
He won’t replace Warner at opener in England

that doesn’t mean Warner will play, it means Head won’t open.

He’ll bat five and dominate. As @Spark said, he’s peeled off three tons on green tops on the last 12 months, two against England and the other against a real attack at the Gabba on the greenest deck anyone’s seen since Hobart 2015 or so.

And straight after he was abysmal at Sussex he went home and scored a double ton in a 50 over match too. Clearly very happy in Australia, jury out (well it's not, we know) in England. I admire your faith, but it's horribly misguided.

Someone start a thread ‘What happens to Burgey when England win the Ashes?’
If that happens (it won’t) then I’ll probably be ok because I’ll be on a nine day all expenses paid Silverseas cruise from Athens to Venice via a couple of Greek Islands and the Dalmatian Coast, complete with my own butler, having just spent a week in New York before that and looking forward to some time in Venice then Paris before heading home.

Rest assured, it won’t break me.

Thankfully during the Ashes I’m off to the Caribbean so will maintain a solid distance from you

There should never be only one continent’s distance between us.

Have said before, your should try to get out here for the next series. Can always stay at my joint.

It’s not beyond question now given the kids ages. Will have a serious look at it in the next twelve months

In Australia, not in England.

In England he averages a mighty 27, with a highest score of 51.
So his two hundreds against the English attacks in helpful conditions only count as "as "hundreds against the English attack in helpful conditions" if those helpful conditions are in England now?

I don't see the relevance of his 100s in Australia, whatever the conditions.

Head has struggled in all conditions away from home, not just when there's a bit of help for the bowlers.

Head has a very good record at home, in fact it's better than very good, he averages over 57.

Away from home, his record is shockingly poor, he averages less than 22, with a top score of 51.

I'd say his away record is much more relevant than the 100s he scored in Australia.

If the Ashes were being played in Australia, Head would be a real threat but they aren't and as such he has alot to prove in this series.

Maybe because Hobart in particular was as stereotypical English conditions as they get.

Sometimes I wonder if people are so obsessed with their checklist by analysis they forget to consider the actual games of cricket that happened.

If Australia beats 'Bazzaball', then it will simply mean it has been outdone by the original.

I mean, it's not like England to finally cotton onto something 30 years after everyone else and then claim they invented it.

IMO 'Bazball' is a state of mind or attitude rather than a way of playing. Win lose or draw in the Ashes it is to be hoped that England retains the positive attitude.
