West Indies vs Pakistan in UAE 2016

Curious - did the pink ball on a flat wicket contribute much to this? Or would it have been the same result with a red ball during the day?
The only different I can think of is that the pink ball is wearing off much earlier. It needed replacing by the 50 over mark. It's more inexperience of the attack than anything. Amir and Sohail got movement yesterday with the new ball.

The key partnership of this innings. The two best batsmen in the side. WI's best chance to post a solid total. Good to see Samuels and Bravo among the runs

I'd really like to see Nawaz and Yasir bowl in tandem. If he is going to be the second spinner from here onwards and replace Zulfi, might as well give these two the chance to develop that partnership Yasir had with Zulfi or Ajmal had with Rehman

Yep credit to the Windies here. Good to see Darren Bravo apply himself, been in the wilderness for a while.

This wicket just seems to be a complete road. WI should be safe if they can bat out three more sessions.

Nice to see them digging in and not getting themselves out for once. I'm still a bit dissapointed with Blackwood and Chase's dismissals to the short ball on a really slow pitch. Particularly Chase who plays on much quicker wickets in Barbados. I've never seen him get out like that, he's usually very solid against short bowling.

My favourite batsman of the current lot to watch is definitely Shane Dowrich. He came in at a tricky time towards the end of the day and yet looked so much more at home than any of the other batsmen. He moves his feet and is positive. I really hope he gets a big score tomorrow as I think he's a century away from really arriving as an international cricketer.

Watched most of this yesterday; good attritional battle. When you see how Bravo bats like he did yesterday (or how he did v Oz in Hobart) it's hard to believe he can has such a poor record at home and had a horror run v India. He just looks like someone who could bat for days on end, especially with his soft hands v the spinners generally blunting their effectiveness.

Re: Samuels, obviously played well but it's amazing how much he seems to struggle judging the length of deliveries from pacemen; I know he's always had his technical issues but don't recall it being that bad.

It was the West Indies day but that late Wahab Riaz spell probably will be decisive in the outcome of the match.

Haven't seen much of Pakistan in Tests in recent years so interesting to watch them yesterday. Shah was pretty good most of the day (especially to Bravo) but seemed to fade a bit in the final session. Amir was a bit blah but I guess it's a long-term project for the Pakistan side with him. I reckon the tour to Australia will bring about better results for him.

WI are probably done for now. Needed to last at least this session and some way into the next one to have any chance.
