Warne has announced his retirement from international, domestic and St Kilda cricket. But he hasn't mentioned Hampshire just yet. He still has two years to run on that contract ...

What else?...keep us updated please.
He's is staying with Hampshire and honouring his contract

He's talking about how there won't be a void in the Australia team as we have the best Domestic structure. He is honoured that fans don't want him to go. He doesn't know what the future holds - will wan't to spend more time with his children.

His focus is the next 2 Test matches, he wants to thrash the poms 5-0.

He stresses for the fith or so time that this is a happy time, not a sad time, a time to celebrate his ride through cricket.

He hopes that there wont be the scrutiny in his private life any more but he acknowledges that that's up to the media.

His low in international cricket is losing the 92/93 series to WI and losing the 96 WC

He is not disappointed that he was never made captain, he says he has played under 4 wonderful captain.

obviously he cannot say that he's disappointed he's never been made captain...

Wasn't losing the Ashes 05 a low point of his career ? :p

He says that his main dissapointments were losing to the West Indies in 92/93 and the 96 World Cup Final. Also he has no regrets about not captaining Australia in Tests. He will spend more time working on the Shane Warne foundation. His major influences were Ian Chappell and Richie Benaud.

Tendulkar and Lara are the two best batsmen he's played against.

Admires how Lara can place a ball
Admires how Tendy has to carry the expectations of a billion people on his shoulders. He says the mental expectations are huge.
He says Darren Lehmann is the best player of spin bowling in the world and the hardest he's ever bowled against.

He says England thoroughly deserved to win 2005.

He says Ponting and co were shocked when they heard. Ponting was a good friend when he told him the news.

He says he doesn't think he could have asked for his career to go any better than it did.

He thanks Simone, he says she has been his rock.

They still live together even though they are divorced.

It's over, great press conference, he didn't cry once, was happy the whole time, joked, didn't read from a statement, was sincere. Just brilliant!

Warne we'll miss you.

It'll be sad to see Warne go but he deserves to go out on his own terms and he has earnt the right to decide when he wants to call it quits. Hopefully he can take a lot of wickets in the next two tests. Even if he doesn't he'll still be one of, if not the greatest bowler of all time.
