No way....C'mon greg, I know you wear your heart on your sleeve, but that call is ridiculous. Whilst Giles did bowl well in spells in the recent ashes.....let be honest...his 10 wickets in 5 tests (2 per test) came at an average of 57.8 which is pretty deadful in any form of the game especially when you consider the other spinner in the series (warne) got 4 times thegreg said:Evenly matched.
yeah, like shane watson is a better allrounder than FlintoffShoaib said:Giles.
Agree with everything you said. And Vettori is now a much better batsman than Giles.zinzan12 said:No way....C'mon greg, I know you wear your heart on your sleeve, but that call is ridiculous. Trust me Vettori would have done considerably better (had he been Englands spinner)as he always has against Australia...Whilst I not suggesting he would have done a warne....I do think he probably would have averaged 30-35 as opposed to Giles 57.8.
Even though vettori test record is well below what it should be...it is still significantly better than giles. Vettori is also a much better oneday bowler.
Care to share your argument as to how they are evenly matched??
Correct, people also forget he's still only 26, which is young for a spinner and is improving all the timeage_master said:vettori is the far better batsman and bowler, and fielder - and hes a smarter cricketer too
Not really. If I had an argument I would have given itzinzan12 said:No way....C'mon greg, I know you wear your heart on your sleeve, but that call is ridiculous. You should feel honoured that you got more than a one liner from megreg said:EDIT: how come I felt the full force of invective for "evenly matched", which can surely, coming from an Englishman, be taken as a tacit vote for Vettori, but Shoiab gets one line for saying "Giles"?

I noticed something interesting on the CW main page. McCullum and Balaji were born on the same day. That should explain their liking for long hair, then.greg said:
Anyway I've got a soft spot for Vettori. We were born on the same day
What's Vettori's nickname then?Jamee999 said:Both perform their roles well.
However, Giles' nickname is cooler so he takes it.
