what a waste, ffs finn find some consistencyFinn making a strong case to replace Conway or Blundell for the Scorcherz
tbf Allen's consistency has been sublime so far.what a waste, ffs finn find some consistency
That's some bowling lineup isn't it - very impressive. Add Jamison in there when fit and it'sso it's looking like Matt Henry lockie Ferguson and will O'Rourke as 3 seamers in the CT squad playing 11 with milne sears duffy as backups, santner and bracewell for spin with phillips for the extra option

Only 7 balls, I'm afraid.Finn Watch: 10 balls faced, 3 innings, 10 runs scored, 3 outs. SR 100, average 3.33 which is also the strike rate for bowlers at him
You'll be okay.Only 7 balls, I'm afraid.
True! Odds he'll get to 10 in his next bat?Only 7 balls, I'm afraid.
If there's any bright spot, - (I'm searching here) - At least he's not dotting up and wasting deliveries like T20 KW does.Finn Watch: 7 balls faced, 3 innings, 10 runs scored, 3 outs. SR 142, average 3.33
who is finns like for like at t20i nz level? tim robinson? maybe bevon jacobs now idkIf there's any bright spot, - (I'm searching here) - At least he's not dotting up and wasting deliveries like T20 KW does.
Nah I'm not convinced of this. If his record was forged batting #5, he'd be a massive asset to NZ. But it wasn't – he's opening. T20 openers and #3s should really average 30.I'm not out to necessarily defend Finn Allen, but I think people have to take the good with the bad with him because he will win games for sides on his own once every 4-5 innings but will also fail horribly in between.
I still think overall someone averaging low-to-mid 20s but having a SR >160 as he does is still a valuable asset in T20s, especially if you have other more consistent measured batsmen in your top 5, like Conway/KW type batters.
Devon the T20 player seems a different beast when turning out for CSK. Perhaps it says something about the relative standard of bowling he faces relative to internationals, but somehow they’ve got the best out of him. Not a coincidence he’s publicly gone on on how he sees himself part of the family there, even allowing for the fact they pay the bills.Devon the T20 player is something of an enigma. By way of his tremendous knack of somehow avoiding losing his wicket, NZ have a stable base to work from almost all the time which means that strike rate becomes more important than average. Conway's a slow scorer but exceptional at rotating strike in T20s.
