What is funnier is Gower career SR of 75 in ODI - which goes to 84 in 42 WSC or in Aus games. He smashed the ball so much and so often in Australia in the 1980's that he should have made it a thing. Just ahead of his time I guess.

Zaheer Abbas had a short career. Difficult to judge those.
Also Viv was striking at 95 at one point. Ridiculous.

State Vice-Captain
Zaheer Abbas 62 ODI matches in those dayz would pass any selective criteria for inclusion in a performance study.
In fact, it is very likely that had he played today, his numbers would match those past performances, if not exceed them.

Him and Greg Chappell, probably yeah but he may have Sparx
Slowed down in that era if he played more. Reasonable to assume not but I overlook for caution.

I'll start:
Jacques Kallis is immensely overrated as an all-rounder. He isn't one like Sobers, Miller and Khan. He's more of a batsman that can bowl a bit, albeit clearly better than anyone else of the same class i.e S Waugh. Kumble isn't an all-rounder and he isn't either. I also think bowling all rounders tend to get underrated. Easier to average 30 and 54 bowling 20 overs per game than 39 and 22 or 40 and 25.
True.
Shaun Pollock equal or better in tests
And miles ahead in ODIs

Mike Procter is the greatest cricketer since Gary Sobers
( Procter and Rice more Guaranteed Greats than Barry Richards for Sure. )

On here, cricketweb?

This usually raises some heckles,

- Mark Wood is actually great, but his international career has been hindered through injury. International fans have truly not seen the best of Wood.

Partially. He was ok for some years. I just consider him to have been over-rated and quite average due to his strike rate. He's not bad obviously.
You know he was adjudged ICC ODI cricketer of the year for 2 years back to back. He was hugging #1 ODI batsman ranking for best part of 2 years somewhere around 2007 to 2008. Not even a top order batsman has done that (may be Kohli/DeVilliers have more recently, haven't checked). For a lower order batsman to do that shows his quality and consistency. He has also had a superb acumen for limited over batting which is a somewhat underappreciated talent.

Buttler who has never been ranked in top 10 in ICC ODI rankings is now being compared to player who has spent a major portion of his career in top 5 and ranked no.1 for about 2 to 3 years

A player who has been selected maximum times in ICC ODI team of the year is now being called over rated

A player who has won ICC ODI cricketer of the year twice is now being compared to player who has not been nominated even once for the award

Buttler has not spent more than 1 month above Dhoni in last 5 years in ICC rankings.

I'm not fussed over Buttler v Dhoni. Obviously Dhoni has the better career atm because of sheer volume but one can reasonably see Buttler going ahead to do better. I disagree with selecting him in an ATG XI but it's an imaginary XI who gives a **** really.

What I cannot fathom is how one can believe Dhoni was ordinary from 2005-2013
