that was a bad loss guys. got to bring in Simon and Cloete for the next 5D.
The next 5D is against Bangladesh, and I think we'll look to try things again. That might involve Simon and Andrew of course, but it's more important to give some people a chance to show their potential and get some form than it is to win these games, even if it would have been nice to beat the reds. ;)

DP Tucker - allrounder - RHB - OS

NR Hancock - allrounder - RHB - RFM
OJ Cook - batsman - LHB - OS

Can I request to play against Bangladesh, please? Because I need some form, after a naff Season 8 and CWXI tour.

Hrmm, poor start guys.

But oh well.
As the self appointed statistician for the blues here are some interesting facts of the friendly vs reds:

Adam was the unluckiest bowler, with 2 close lbw decisions going the WRONG way and 2 dropped chances.

Liam was the most uneconomical bowler! (HAR HAR, more than me ;)) With an economy of 4.13, Demeza had 3.87.

Adam's economy was 1.61, Sudeeps 1.85 and Nath's 2.00. Nice.

Patrick batted slower than Crampton :O ;) heee

Dinu batted TOO fast, s/r over 100 :)

Sudeep sucks at reaching milestones, out for 48 and 47.

Jellett can't catch, he dropped 4. The team dropped 11, with the other 7 going to two a piece for Crampton, Camps and Collins and Sean put one down also.

I can't bowl, I bowled 4 wides. Apparently all atleast two foot over the batsmens head.

Fielding practise guys :)

Thoughts on The Reds Match

I simply think that one of the batsmen who got starts needed to go on with it. Nine times did a batsman reach 20, yet we only managed one fifty. I was very guilty of this problem, getting out twice in the forties. Well done to Crampton and Popat in the second innings though. Stuck around for a long time, and built a great partnership.

The bowling was odd. Very good performance by all in the first innings, especially Nath. But the second innings was a disaster of sorts. No-one really got hammered (bar Travis) yet the wickets just never came. Credit to Mork and Dobson though.

Mork and Dobson both had chances in the same over from me, Mork on 40'ish and Dobson less than ten.
Could've been a turning point, but **** happens :)

Look forward to the next game :)

Suggested XIII for 2nd 5D warmup:

PE Young
SG Fitzsimmons (C)
AP Cloete
MW DeSilva
BL Wilshere
A Crampton (wk)
SC Popat
MJC Currie
TC Halsey
AAA Collins
TJ Demeza

12th Man: SE Fuller
13th Man: NL Patrick

Strong top order, followed by a couple of lesser experienced heads in the middle. Crampton takes the gloves with Jellett on "vacation". Popat and Currie stay in as they battle for the spinning allrounder spot. Halsey steps in for the in-form Patrick, whilst Adam and Travis get another go.

Yep fine line-up by me, although I'd be tempted to out Patrick in for someone else as I'd like to see how our full-strength line-up does.

the team is good, perhaps breaking up the top 3 could be a good idea, Pete, myself and andy are the experienced ones and maybe by switching de Silva and Cloete we could break it up a little...

I'm much better off batting at 3 thoguh because that's my position in the CWXI.

Have I been "dropped" or have I just been rotated as part of policy for warmup matches?
It's definitely the latter.

It's all about giving everyone as equal a chance to perform and show what they can do before the season kicks off.

Perfect order I reckon. Where is the match being held though? Hopefully somewhere with a bit of spin.

Well done in the OD game guys.
