Nothing seems to be working for me to take wickets.....the ball either drops short of slips off an awkward ball, or flies over slips for 4...... then the ******* umpires have been turning my appeals down, then there are the catches going down.

The test dummy has been hit in the head 4 times already last training session....i';m working real hard to try and get me another nice bag of victims.

(side note : Liam, when you sim blue's bowling, do you bowl Demeza on 100% aggression -every- time possbile? I'd appreciate that ;) )

When you put your average and economy rate in your signup form, you indirectly determine your SR. If you put an average of 24 and an E/R of 6, then your strikerate would be a handy-dandy aggressive 24. So, I think it all depends on what you put down in your sign up.

Yes, I have a much higher e/r than most other bowlers I do believe with a decent average.

But during the simulation, I believe, there is the option to increase and decrease both the current batsmen and current bowlers aggression.

WEll, in the 5D sim i'm rather sure of it as I hada tinker with it. - i think -.

Yeah I have used it aswell, and from just the demo I imagined that E/R and batting S/R would determine aggressiveness levels till I was told you can incorporate S/R's and such into the database itself. So to put it simply - I have no idea who Liam works the sim. But I am pretty sure your aggressiveness is determined by what you put as your E/R.

The net reference was more to getting your batting in some sort of respectable order.

You're typically used in 5-6 over spells at full aggression.

Lame that i've never even heard of Best....then I look at his stats for test cricket and he averages almost 40 :( hehehehe
Well he went 0/99 against the Aussies on debut, so he's definitely improved since. His domestic record is superb and he looked good against the Brits until he was injured.

Quick, aggressive, will have a word with the batsmen, will have a swipe at the ball. The difference between him and you is that he actually has some runscoring potential. :p

Next season we hope to have another team where the newer players will play, thus allowing more exposure.
I hope that some form of rookie limiter will be in place then or that team will be unbeatable! ;)

Cool thanks, I just see Demeza as being a nutbag, who (as you said from the 5-6 over spells) would tire quickly because he is going at 110% raw enegry and aggression all the time.

I picture him the kind of guy that if he can't get a wicket in an over, starts bouncing the batsmen at his throat and then sledges them for being girlyboys who dodge the ball and not get hit etc ;)

Demeza isn't doing -too- bad in one day at number 10 and 11 heh ehe

Is the OD sim different to the 5D sim?

I agree here Marc.

Even though it would be stupid for me to agree, as Demeza is a rookie and he has some completely nut bowling innings.
Yet, as i'm not selfish, I really look forward to the 'realism' factor being brought to the cricket web dev league system.
Being able to improve from season to seaon, game to game, would be really cool.

The suggestions i've read so far from several people have been very dandy and more than worthwhile to wait for, that's for sure.

I'm not sure if people have complained about Demeza or not, but I simply created him to have some fun at being a 'psycho bowler' hence his extremrly horrid batting record :)

Yeah it is. It doesn't incorporate SR or ER at all, so Demeza is just a fast bowler with an average in it.

Disappointing to only tie, but we played well. So I don't think we can be too disheartened. Let's lift our heads and pull out a big one for the 5 dayer next week!

hmm.. I'm averaging 27.5 with the bat in OD but 16 with the ball and 11 wickets, economy of 3.9 and a strike rate of 24.45.

I definitely think I'm turning into an OD bowling all-rounder :p

As of last Sunday's 5D game, I've hit 723 runs @ 40.17. Bowling wise, 24 overs, 47 runs and 2 wickets. Economy rate of 1.96 which I'm delighted with :D. Just gotta get into some kind of batting form.

Well, it looks like we pretty much have to win all our remaining matches to make the final in either competition now, so the pressure is on. Let's see what we can do, eh?

Well batted from Simon and Dinu (i gather ur De Silva), good 126 runs partnerships got us too a good start. Also well bowled by Laim and Cloate very economical 2/35 (10). Looked like the game was in the bag until some big lower order hitting, probably what we lacked in the our inning 29 runs off the last 7 overs. But aleast we got something out off the game.

With more work load on the main page since the new design's inception, I haven't really followed much of how we've done this season. I viewed the points table, and we're not doing well, are we? :(

On a personal note, could someone inform me how I've done this season?

I'll try to be more regular from now on.

SC Popat
5D - 653 runs @ 24.19; 30 wickets @ 25.93
OD - 206 runs @ 20.60; 7 wickets @ 48.43, Econ. 4.6

Apologies to Wilshere for denying him his hundred. This is all in hindsight though. :)

Fuller just 3 wickets away from a 50-wicket debut season, to go with 1000+ runs. Good stuff.
