So, the updated criteria:

- Doesn't play Internationals regularly.
- Is fairly experienced.
- Is active.
- Has the time to set up tactics and name teams etc.

I meet all those criteria, and most important of all, feel I'd do a good job. I'd really like to captain this side, so if you guys just voted me in, I feel I'd make a big difference. I would also go out of my way to listen to suggestions from my players about the team make-up and tactics.

Got to love the politcis around this place. Considering Richards is going to be away for a bit of next season when he moves to Australia. It looks like Hoy is your best option, did a brilliant job for Green when he was vice captain a couple seasons ago. But when his away for Internationals give Smith the captaincy.

Just my two cents.

Tbh I'd be a better captain than Borcich. As Richards has virtually ruled himself out it has to be between Hoy and Smith. I think Tharmi got it right.

So the MSN convo that just happened where you blatenly swore, insulted etc was just someone else? Or are you allowed outbursts every day to help with your rehabilitation?

To be fair, MSN convos and CW are two completely different things, and you simply can't expect them to mirror eachother.

Hoy would be a great choice for captain i think.

Borich as a VC would give him a chance to learn the ropes and also a chance to lead when Hoy was on international duty.

I would love to captain CW Black and am quite chuffed that I've even been mentioned. If given the chance I'd love to do it.

That said, I also think Hoy would do a great job.

I'm sorry, but you didn't want Neil to carry on, because he was not active enough. Now you are arguing against possibly the most active member of the Blacks.
I'm sorry but I didn't think there was only one criteria. I wanted Neil out because he wasn't involved. Everyone else is involved, besides a select few. So that leaves 8 or so people to choose from. Richards fits all criteria in that he plays, has been around for a long time, doesn't play internationals and he's active. But he doesn't want it. So then everyone jumps to Smith, on the basis that he's active. We've all been pretty active this season, so I don't see why Smith is the obvious selection. Chaulk, Hoy and myself (I don't really want it) are all pretty much guaranteed a spot in both starting XI's (when we aren't suspended (Y)) and we're all around here a lot. Personally, I think Garven's suggestion is the best way to do it.

Edit: Fitzsimmons would be a decent choice as well.

Simon's running WCC and captaining a CWXI Football side, so I think he has a little too much on his plate.

I'd be honoured to be VC under Hoy though.

I think that Hoy, then Borcich or Smith (would both do a good job) as vice, plus perhaps 2 more as selectors?

to be honest i dont think Borcich should have a leadership role he just hasnt shown enough maturity. I'd give that role to Fitzy and make Hoy captain.

It's Borcich's first season at the club,...... why would a first year player even be considered.

Richards pulling out was a shame for not only teh Black team but the dev league in general, I reckon. Hoy would be top dog material, but would go missing due to internationals, ... but as far as Black should be concerned, that shouldn't be an issue as mr Pickup, albeit as inactive and poor a captain as he was due to this said inactivity, was an international and went missing anyway.

Outrageous as it sounds, I think Chaulk - active, in both teams, possibility of not playing internationasl again, has been at the club as long as the drunk regular at the bar - would be a winner .... if all but his attitude. ;)

Long post for someone not involved, I apologise.

The thing is, we have 3 members who aren't in the most stable position, account wise. I think it's between Smith and Hoy, possibly Borcich. With a bigger pool of players avaliable for the selection roll.

While Borcich hasn't always been the model CW citizen, i believe that he at least deserves a go at any leadership roles that are offered to him in the future. Things can always be changed later if it doesn’t happen to work out.

I also think Jamee's suggestion with the 4 man selection panel is the way to go, would allow the other three to carry on of the skipper goes M.I.A.

I'd be happy to be on the selection panel. It should probably be those who have been around the club for a while and know how everyone plays. I believe myself and Chaulk should be in it, but the rest of the panel is a bit tougher. Thompson, Butler and Wilson have been around for longer than most, but none of them are very active, or care about the issue, in Butler's case.
