I changed 2 of my votes - one from Sehwag to Lawry (forgot that Lawry is yet to be taken), and second from Waite to Engineer (both have similar case IMO, and I figured Engineer has more chance of winning this).

Cheers. I've edited my tally.

World G XI Results
- 12 Different openers were chosen with Vijay Merchant who was so close to making the World E XI, finally makes the G XI with 4 votes. Bill Lawry, Hanif Mohammad and Virender Sehwag are level on 3 votes. I voted for Lawry so he is excluded. Its a difficult choice, but Hanif Mohammad was closer to making my team, so he makes the team.

Batting votes
McCabe- extremely surprised that someone so highly regarded by his peers has not been chosen.
Pietersen- dazzling match-winning ability, arrogance and confidence. A superhuman talent.
Paynter- a crisis batsman who averaged 59.23 in test cricket. Vastly underrated here for reasons I am unsure of.

Spinning vote
Tayfield- an all-time great spinner who could bowl some of the finest spells and innings in history.

Jager

International Debutant
The plan was 16 teams. It's not getting boring yet is it? I thought that 16 would be good and we could run a simmed tournament in the same format as the Euro's.

I was thinking we just have 1 series matches in the group stages, 3 test series in the quarters and semi's and a 5 match series for the Final. I'm open to other suggestions though.
I like the 16 team idea personally. It's interesting to see how the community rates and selects people as a group, I like this experiment a lot.

Ian Chappell

Outstanding record as a number 3, and batted against some quality English attacks in that time. Also a fearless and uncompromising leader, just the sort to galvanise a team that might be outgunned on paper.

Ted Dexter

Class personified, blazing player. Also can contribute with some handy medium pace.

Kevin Pietersen

Obviously super talented, and I think that the lower the side he was picked in, the better he'd perform! Great record against Australia when they were at their best, and an enigma. Could bat four or five in this side.

Anil Kumble

The thinking man's cricketer, who got better and better away from home over time.

Mmmm, what kind of a criterion is that?

Shouldn't we vote again between Lawry and Hanif to select an opener?
I shouldn't vote in this role. I just do occasionally because I can't keep quiet and I want my opinion known :) I went Lawry and Hunte.

Lawry, Hanif and Sehwag all received 3 votes BUT if I didn't vote it would be just Hanif and Sehwag who received equal votes. All along when either myself or Jager have been doing this role and we've voted, if equal, the other person gets chosen ahead of the person we voted for.

What I meant to say in my previous post was when I initially picked Lawry and Hunte, I considered picking Hanif, but not Sehwag so obviously I think Hanif is better. Sorry if it isn't an excellent reason.

Previously in the round between Lloyd, KP and Faulkner I didn't know who to vote for and since it was the last vote for that team and it wasn't going to cause an issue for the next lot of questions, I just asked it again as they are different types of players.
