T20 Blast 2024 (Started on 30th May)

Was also at the game - went with my family. My wife’s criticisms were (as one who has no background in the game and may therefore be taken as the sort of person they T20 is trying to attract) were that:
- they should start playing as soon as it stops raining rather than spending ages warming up (I explained about needing the pitch and outfield to dry out but she was not convinced)
- the music mix is cheesy and hasn’t changed since she first went with me on 2011.

Watched a bit of Somerset v Gloucestershire on Sunday and it was a cracking game with a tight finish

Gloucester won off the second last ball , chasing 195

I'm not sure whose idea it was to schedule Sussex v Hants on the evening of the Euros Semi Final, it wasn't even on Sky. I watched it on the ipad with footy on TV, a half decent crowd in considering.

Sussex nearly into the QF's, something I definitely was not expecting at the start.

Sky have barely showed the Blast.

ECB defs trying to kill it off.

Roses off already. 7pm start, 7pm inspection umpires called it off in 10 minutes.
2nd match in succession after Derby last night.
2nd Home Roses T20 match in 2 years lost.
There's no need .... it's not asif Buttler or Livingstone were going play.

Horrible day for George Garton

  • Bowls the second over of Worcs innings, goes for 15 immediately letting off the pressure from a good first over.
  • Doesn't come back on to bowl until the last over, and gets hits for 6,4,6,6,6,6
  • Comes in and on his first ball runs out the settled batter
  • Gets bowled on his second ball

Must be close to one of the worst players to have played international cricket for England in recent times?

Sam Cook playing today for Essex - must be hoping his name is on the England radar

Salt and Pepper could seriously happen for England couldn't it, for awhile Pepper was just an average county player, but **** me he's gone wild the last year or so, England must be looking.

The fact he's made runs at #4 and can keep is a huge plus. Bairstow should be gone soon, hopefully he fills that spot in the t20 team.

Lancashire sign Dockrell as an overseas opion in the Blast.
Green is contracted to play in CPL, so assuming Dockrell plays one of the next two games the Irishman now considered an all-rounder would be qualified under the rules to play in the knock out stages in August/September. Lancashire will be hoping that both games are not rained off. They only need one point to qualify for the quarter finals.

Almost cheating bringing in Livingstone (54 from 37) and Salt (70 from 42) in for their first game of the Blast group stages. Partnership 112 from 11.4 overs (70 balls). Shame they might not be available in the finals.

Dockrell did not bowl, did not bat took a catch though

I think on Friday maybe the final group games of the season. My team need to win to have any chance of qualifying

then this T20 goes into hibernation until the 100 is finished
