Murali is within his rights to refuse to tour any country esp If the Prime Minister of that Country is an IDIOT and hostile towards him.
Haha, it's not like Australia has decalred a war on Sri Lanka, is it?

He, as a cricket fan, put words to his opinion. He didn't go on doing official press conferences promoting his views on Murali, did he?

Murali, get over it. Such sissy attitude doesn't help.

Except I was clearly referring to New Zealanders in Pakistan, making the Hadlee comment irrelevant.

And players missing because of burnout is understandable in this day and age (as both Stewart and Gough did - incidentally they paid for their choice, Gough with his career)

You cannot equate that with Murali.

I really dont give a **** about Whether or not Gough and Stewart paid for their choice. The fact remains that they pulled out of the tour giving excuses, So did Murali giving his own excuses. You defending them by offering excuses sounds so hypocritical.

How is Hadlee's withdrawl irrelevant here, How is Botham's withdrawal irrelevant ?? Oh let me guess Any withdrawl by an Aussie, NZ, Eng player is irrelevent and they can give any excuse they want, they can listen to their so called 'Inner Voice', they can claim burnout, they can use all the excuse in the world, but not a single word will be spoken but the moment Muralitharan does it, he becomes a Chicken.

Sissy or not, It is still Murali's right to Pull out of a tour. Murali doesn't need a certificate on bravery from any of you. Howard should have known better before opening his mouth. He did it again today.

Marc just needs to do some research on Graham thorpe and tell us how many times he pulled out of a Tour for Personal reason

Raj, You still dont get it, Murali is boycotting this tour. He is denying aussie fans therir wish to heckle him, abuse him. I dont see those drunk fans following Murali anywhere else in the world because they are bunch of losers who have nothing better to do in life.

If at all they are going to follow Murali all around the world, I hope they follow him around in Sri Lanka and India and they will get their due. ;)

Then I would imagine that being a CW staff member it becomes your duty to call Murali name. So murali is a 1. Coward 2. Chicken 3. Sissy.

Next staff member please...

you keep using "aussie fans" too casually. Its just a small section of the crowd and you have such mobs all around the world in every sport. why relinquish your world record and give credit where its not due

Nope.

I was just criticizing Murali for his decision.

Never once mentioned my support for Howard's comments, because well... I don't.

No, being a CW forum member, and more importantly a human being, gives me the right to speak out my mind. :p

If they're drunk losers, why does Murali care so much about their reaction?

So what should I call them, Sri Lankan fans ?? No matter how small section they are they are still supporters of Australian cricket team.

Doesn't teh world refer those rowdy fans in England as 'England Fans' and 'Pakistani fans' ? Dont people say 'Indian Fans' when they talk about Calcutta incident during world cup 1996 ??

Because it affects his bowling, it affects his rhythem. Try bowling and have some one call 'No Ball' each time you get ready to roll your arm. You will understand what I am talking about.

On the same note MURALITHARAN has the right to OPT OUT OF ANY TOUR HE WANTS.

It's just so funny that some people get so defensive and start parroting about their rights to express their mind on a silly little provocation but at the same time they dont want Muralitharan (who has been provoked, heckled, abused so many times) to exercise his right or speak out his mind and start calling him names (Coward, Sissy, Chicken come to mind ) the moment he chooses to do so.

Williams ruled out of the Test series with back problems. Replacement hasn't been named yet.

I'm thinking they kill 2 birds with one stone, select MacGill as the replacement.

If they go for a paceman I'd suspect one of Nicholson, Bracken, Cleary or Wright - all are fairly even in the selection race (although personally I think Bracken is behind). Noffke might also come into the picture.
Cleary?

I read they are also considering Watson or Symonds.
