The Man of the Chairman's Trophy is....

Blewy

It was tight, but Blewy edged through by 13 points to 12 over Cloete.

Sri Lankans v CW Black

Daily Blast: The Blacks may well be disappointed, but the reality of this defeat at the hands of the Sri Lankans is that the pitch was difficult for batting and the Sri Lankan Test class rose above. Crucial win for Sri Lanka at this stage.

If I hadn't done an Ian Salisbury impression it would have been closer.

Not acceptable :(

CW XII for the opening match against Sri Lanka

The final XII, as agreed to by the selection panel for the opening Test match:

Peter Young
Broncoman
Cloete
Eclipse
Jason Toogood
Blewy (c)
Ash Chaulk (wk)
Xavier Rose
Mr Wright
David Kennett
Neil Pickup (vc)

12th man: Master Blaster.

Despite Peter Young doing an admirable job behind the stumps in Test cricket, the seletion panel has decided that a full-time wicket-keeper is now in need, allowing for a Test debut for Ash Chaulk, with Marc71178 the unfortunate batsman to miss out despite solid performances in his Test matches to date. After much boardroom conjecture, Mr Wright retains his place in the squad alongside Xavier Rose and David Kennett, with the selectors believing that this pace attack offers us the best balance for the opening match.

Kennett returns to the international arena after an extended absence, with Rose looks to build on his impressive Test debut in Bangladesh. Neil Pickup retains the vice-captaincy after an impressive cameo during the Champions Trophy.

Very relieved and excited to regain my place in the test squad. I hope I can repay the selectors faith in their decision. I am looking forward to this test series like you won't believe. This side looks very strong and I can't wait to enter the training camp.

Let's back up the performance of our One Day team and win the series.

Absolutely disgusted at my treatment by the selectors.

Having done nothing wrong in my Test career at all I find myself dropped.

I can only speculate it's because, unlike some, I'm not afraid to speak my mind, and that has upset certain people.

Nice to see that some people are given consistency of selection...

You've most certainly done nothing wrong to miss out on the side... And Marc, you know that I'm not going to leave you out because you speak your mind - although I can't categorically claim this for all the selectors I'd say they are much the same.

It was just extremely unfortunate that in choosing a specialist wicket-keeper, 5 middle order bats doesn't go into 4.

You are, however, most certainly the first reserve should an injury arise and will remain so until you have another Test chance IMO. Don't give up just yet.

I think it's obvious that there's something very sinister going on in the corridors of power, and certain people are being considered persona non grata...

Funnily it seems to be the ones that speak their minds, and that then seems to mean that the team they're playing on consistently underperform for some reason or other (I wonder why that would be)

Ever since a team agreed on a course of action regarding a certain member of it's team, it appears that things have been going wrong for them and requests have been overlooked.

Coincidence or not?

I echo Andre's thoughts 110%....

As the last member of the selection panel, I have to agree with the sentiments expressed by Andre. It's just not possible to have thirteen people in a team.

However, I am very happy to see people being so keen on playing for the XI :)
