Good recovery from the knights in their innings. Warriors will be devasted allowing phangiso to score 74. Beyers with 6 and king 3 wickets. 20 run first innings lead.

Brevis on 92 from 95. Titans lead by 149. WP need to get him soon if they want to win. Starting to take charge.

Rocks vs lions looks like the rain will win.

Dragons in a decent position vs dolphins. 50 run first innings lead.

David tieger going Markram route taking longer to get into adult teams.?
He seems to be a permanent member of Tuks 1 in 2025. Last year was inbetween Tuks 1 & 2. Just such a bottleneck to get in at the Titans. Someone like Keagan Lion-Cachet can't even catch a debut for them yet.

Brevis 99 😢

WP bowled Titans out for 211
Lawrence with 4 wickets and 7 in the match. Fair play to him.

WP need 187 to win.

Won't be easy. Hasn't been an easy pitch with the inconsistent bounce.

Just because they aren't on the radar yet but I'm really excited to see what more Romashan Pillay and Oliver Whitehead can do with opportunity. Because in their limited opportunities they've shown they have something about them.

Pillay with runs again for Dolphins. No footage bar this when he was in school. Plus v Oman for Dolphins in 2023

Similar for Whitehead. But he showed serious gumption with the bat on debut in T20 SF for WP this season. Couldn't quite accelerate with his 40-odd with the position WP were in but he also pulled this catch off. He looks a supreme fielder and bowls seam-up too. Quicker than Pillay's.

Reason I quite like them and its massive for me is adaptability which will help across formats.

Dewan Marais and Steve Stolk have had more opportunities in professional cricket because of their hitting power but it concerns me that is all they got and when it gets to higher quality with higher risk and less adaptability you get found out. Especially on our pitches.

Warriors 102/2 at lunch v Knights
Lead by 82

Matthew De Villiers 52* (54) - let's see if he converts this one to a 100. Been a really impressive start to his Pro cricket career from Cape Town Club cricket.

SA Emerging and SA20 4 radar no doubt.

Had no idea his uncle is Pieter Strydom.

Worth reading his journey here: https://chadwickdrive.substack.com/p/to-strive-and-not-to-yield

Good for WP. Probably save now. Titans batted poorly through out the game. Can't win games when only 1 batsmen in each innings contribute.

Good to see DE Villiers and king make runs for warriors.

Isn't he available to get into lions side also? Otherwise this is when loan or draft system is needed for the provincial teams.

I think each player has to be attached to a club for the Province they play for. So unless Lions sign him on contract forms he is attached to Titans now.

WP's vital win gets them up to 3rd. If Dolphins beat Dragons today, then Dolphins can jump to 3rd.

Likely 6 points each for Boland and Lions with the rain around Cape Town and Paarl.

Can the Knights hold off the Warriors today and get a draw which pushes Warriors closer to relegation. That dispute is going to be massive one feels.

15, 10, 7, 5, 3, 2, 1 , 0 is the points per position.

A reminder of the points without the 4-day competition.

Boland 18
Lions 17
Titans 17
Dolphins 11
Dragons 8
Warriors 7 (-2 dispute)
WP 5
Knights 3 (+2 dispute)

Great seeing Parsons bowling successfully again to have that extra string to his bow but being a quick bowler in Durban or Paarl is a graveyard for your statistics as a quick in terms of wicket-taking :)

Knights hang on for the drawn. After losing 3 early ones they did it fairly comfortable.
Dragons lose to dolphins by 6 wickets.

Relegation now down to dragons, knights and warriors.

Dragons have titans away and WP at home to go.
Warriors have dolphins at home .
Knights have lions at home .

Looking at it warriors have to be favourites to go down.

The only way the Warriors stay up;

Knights don't win the case. Then the Knights need to find 4 points to equal the Warriors & 5 to better. So basically 5 points (4th spot) which feels unlikely with at least one of Boland & WP jumping them with the extra game.

So it comes down to what happens with the Knights' case.

As things currently stand
Lions 32 (17 + 15)
Titans 24 (17 + 7)
Dolphins 21 (11 + 10)
Boland 21 (18 + 3)
Dragons 9 (8 + 1)
Knights 8 (3 + 5)
WP 7 (5 + 2)
Warriors 7 (7 + 0)
