South Africa Domestic Season 2024/25

What happened to the young fast bac left bowler youngster that was coming through from a southern suburbs school think he played one 4 dayer for wp a few years back.
Liyema Waqu? Went to SACS. Think we had to debut him in school as we were short of BA options.

I was following him in club cricket & it seems like he isn't performing to levels to be picked by WP. He was expected to play before Bedja, Lawrence & Daniels considering that chance he got whilst at school & has a HP contract announced for the 2024/25 contracting. Currently at University of Western Cape.

These are the situations that concern me. Pushing players too soon and then how they deal with the drop off.

Most SA U19 reps in recent squad

This level is thriving in the Province.

Plus.

Rondebosch & Bishops First XIs ranked 1 & 2 in the country.

How does Lhuan go purely as a keeper. If he's halfway decent he may be the most exciting young player in the world RN.

I still can't believe people fell for the craze of Steve Stolk from that last U19 batting group. Lhuandre was close to the best batsman in that WC in my mind.

I think for white-ball his keeping is fine although I remember thinking in a game this season he needs a bit of work. It might come down to being light on his feet & he will need to work on his conditioning a bit.😅

One of those guys that will pass fitness easily but will always look chunky aka Smith, Kallis, Cullinan, McMillan but were fine slippers.

Swanepoel removed Forrester for a duck late yesterday. 7.2 overs 4/16 (deserves another crack at county cricket).

Knights 65/5 and trail Warriors by a 106 still in the crunch game.

Difficult to say as currently he plays most of his provincial cricket as a pure batsmen with moonsamy as the keeper at titans. Difficult to judge a keeper on only white ball, haven't seen any mayor issues when he keeps.

Did keshav get hurt for dolphins? I see he bowled 27.3 and Parsons 5.3. subrayen 41.3 but he took the last dragons wicket.

He has been keeping ahead of Moonsamy in games which surprises me. He kept for SA U19s but bowled for his school last year ha

From when I have watched moonsamy keeps but occasionally they swap. Moonsamy defenitely keeping in this game.

Active South African quicks, seamers & medium pacers first-class records by wickets taken. Not including games currently on the go. Didn't include Magala and Parnell either as not playing this season and it will be a miracle again if they do play FC again.

Young fast bowlers growing up on a diet of T20 and not honing their bodies/actions/skills is a concern.

Light Green indicates playing this round, darker green are in IPL or likely would be there not for injury. Blank they aren't playing this round. Hardus Viljoen is blue as playing Div 2.

Wickets per game
>4 yellow
> 3.5 orange
> 2.5 blank
<= 2.5 red

Sounds like he's more a part time white ball keeper type rather than a pure keeper?

Plus George Linde just gone to 50 & only what 94 runs away from a 1000 on aggregate for the season across formats.

Expecting him & Brevis (2nd season in a row) to join J Hermann (3 season in a row) & Pretorius.

I feel like dalien at Titans was another star at 17 that's only starting to come right now at 27/28.

Thanks, I don't get much hope for Mfunelwa you seen him I haven't seen Tsaka . Southern suburbs schools and talent natured is reliant on old boys money i guess as per cricket is a wealthy man's sport like rugby, padel and golf.

We got enough keepers for like 3 or 4 to play as just batsmen or as keeper batsmen if not more .
