South Africa Domestic Season 2024/25

This shows Wp not producing good young fast bowlers anymore unless those 14 year olds come through but too early to say for them, surprising kzn coastal is! 10 to 12 wp and Boland players out of 52 I find quite poor also. Transvaal and northerns plus kzn producing the most it seems quality players.
Lions, titans and dolphins only profitable unions so no surprise that it filters down to their development.

Yes Ethan Cunningham had a jnr wp contract few years back played t20 tourney opened about 5 times did nothing, seems to be a hype peaked school bully a Richard levy who probably won't make it sadly, I know he apparently bowls also but seen nothing. Nice he doing well at Boland or better , bongi and Oliver looking good :)and breed good for wp, sadly bishops boy bird going nowhere slowly maybe change of province or county stint can help ?

I must ask about wp I know the head of marketing and Arthur bloch used to be president know his son will report back . We know it's financial and corruption as they used to have a few bop still. Look at stormers they manage to keep and produce alot of their youngsters.

Botha just got his first professional 50 in One-Day Cup & Cunningham his debut so they seemingly right in the mix at Boland.

WP are dominating at youth level and you can see by the number of players in SA Schools, SA U19s etc it's just we don't have strong BA options outside TdZ. Mpongwana is okay & can have a competitive domestic career. Mfunelwa is doing everything right to be in the mix but he is wk/bat & Verreynne is the captain.

Kashief Joseph isn't spoken about but made SA Colts end of last year & already hit 2 100s for Rondebosch CC.

Tyler Williams the other seamer as Raeeq with WP senior team.

Mfunelwa & Whitehead going on to get 100s

If I am Freestate I would getting quite pissed off about this narrative from some regarding the warriors.
Those same issues loses affected them and central region not one tear shed but we are seeing crocodile tears for warriors.

I do agree with Russel regarding too few games not relegation/ promotion. That entirely depends on type of coaches you appoint. Appoint brave coaches they will back youth, appoint conservative coaches and they will trust seniors to avoid relegation. But the same will apply with no promotion/relegation, brave coaches back a vision , conservative stick with tried & trusted.

It's from the CSA website but I can never find it. Somehow created a link like an app on my phone when someone sent me a link ages ago and takes me straight there. But I can't send a link as it's like an app.

I just think it hurts our cricket more not having a Warriors in the top division than when the Knights were relegated. Not only are there the Proteas but they have and give opportunities to young players other teams don't do & are among the best young players in the country learning their game. The whole thing with CSA removing their win V Dolphins is a farce. Should have been minimal fine. Not that I agree with trying to drive an elite system with the current quota rules and expect fairness for promotion/relegation though.

Knights had guys who have gone on become proteas or been in the proteas squad just before or just after their relegation. They lost coetzee, van tonder and migael pretorius due to their relegation. All who are or have been in protea squads. Maybe warriors give a bit more chances to youngsters but could be because they thought they were always safe, knights have been the first to relegate so were going to play a bit safer.

As for the points. Don't like the system, believe its just window dressing. But everyone knew the rules, its been around for sometimes. Warriors basically decided the rule doesn't apply to us. In that circumstance its right to be hit with the hammer for me. CSA then messed up even more by not taking the win away and now its a complete mess.

If you want to understand south african conservatism you just have to see titans needing a wicket but deciding to go to the part time off spin of lu-andre pretorius before the legspin of dewald brevis.

So in a nutshell, Warriors are definitely coming last in the 4-day competition.

If Knights drop to 7th and get overtaken by NW then even with a potential 2 point deduction for the Warriors they will survive and Knights will be relegated.

Without the points deduction for Knights to jump Warriors and not be relegated they need to finish 4th which isn't impossible but will need both WP and Boland to have really poor games next week.
