Round of 16 matches

I think it's Grecian who was complaining about marginal offside calls going the way of the defender? Might've been Furball.
My gripe is when people say 'that was offside as his left toe was in an offside position.'

The offside law should state that a player is only offside when no part of his body is in line with the defence.

Commentator's use of "ironic" starting to grate here
The other one which is prolific ATM is "surreal".

"How does it feel mate?"

"It's surreal mate."

Must have heard it a dozen times in post-Origin interviews.

It's not surreal ffs. It would be surreal if a talking penguin took the last shot at goal while smoking a cigar and quoting Nietzsche.

That would be surreal.

Also if you describe most of the things in your life as surreal, you are hallucinating.

Have Algeria played Jerry in a WC since 1982?

Imagine a few Algerians of a certain age still nurse a grudge over the Austria/Germany carve up that eliminated them.

Yeah, I think the pundits were talking about this earlier in the tournament actually. Grudge match for sure.

Haha, what happened? I've been out all day and missed the game.
Came out to punch away a corner. Ended up palming it meekly across the goal straight to Pogba, who duly did the obvious.

Was probably the best player on the pitch otherwise.

Top save by the Algeria keeper there.

Germany looking like they don't have the bottle for this atm.

What'll happen is that Algeria will look good for an hour without really creating anything clear cut, then drop off and then concede with ten to go, though. At least, that seems to be the pattern in these matches thus far.

Would be so keen if Algeria got through and they played their colonial oppressors in the next round

Yeah Algeria had a good half but they just seemed to be working so much harder. Basically a mirror of the last game, would expect a similar result.

Yeah, would be amazed if Germany don't get it done tbh. They've not really got into this at all so far though.
