**Official** Zimbabwe in South Africa Thread

International Regular
That was an awesome return to internationals for Heath Streak, great batting and tight bowling was achieved by him.

I hear that Klusener, Adams and Mckensie are unlikely to get renewed contracts by UCBSA

Marius

International Debutant
Andy Blignaut is in the squad for the test starting tomorrow. I don't think he's inclusion will affect the result, which I predict will be an innings victory for SA.

International Captain
It will be a big victory for South Africa they can recall Bacher, Klusner, Hall, Hayward and Adams and still win easy

Andrew Hall played South Africa's last Test match. How can he possibly be recalled?

When Kemp came in they had to dismiss him early.

Better someone who can actually take wickets have a go than have an easy push it around at 3 or 4 an over and get yourself settled job.
Because if Kemp smashed someone who theoretically could get him out it'd sure help, wouldn't it?
It'd be no good pushing it around for 3-an-over if there was someone else who could come on after Utseya and keep it down to that.
Because the rest of them aren't good enough to do that.

Only someone massively lacking in cricketing knowledgability seriously believes Utseya is of substantial value to the present Zimbabwe ODI side
Only someone lacking equally believes anyone could make any difference to the present Zimbabwe ODI side.
Equally only someone lacking believes that someone going for 5.5-an-over is any more useful.

It'd help more if there was actually a chance of dismissing him, rather than allowing him to play his way in whilst ticking the scoreboard over nicely enough to ensure the rate never got to be a problem.

Had a bowler who poses a threat been bowling there's a chance he'd have gone and then suddenly it's 5 down less than half way to the target.

Yet it's far more likely that he'd have smashed his way to 20 and victory would have come quicker.

So in your view it's better to allow a man in such form to play himself in comfortably than attack him straightaway even if it gives a few away? 8-)

5 down less than half way to the target starts the odd alarm bell.

Bit of a recovery for Zim; 41 for 7! :D

Why are Streak & Blignaut batting @ 8 and 9 in this line up?!
Maybe because they haven't played any FC cricket for months. But your're right. Streak could legitimately find himself in the top 5 with this lot.

Am I being unduly harsh, or is this sort of scoreline the best thing that could happen if we want to see an end to the current situation? Zim's presence as a test side needs to be shown up, and being stuffed to an embarrassing degree by what isn't an oustanding SA side may be the best thing that could happen

And that's a wrap, jeez....
54 all out. Worst ever for Zim. :-O

4 wickets for Kallis too, Zim really must be a shower of something brown & smelly! Davey Houghton just said on Sky they shouldn't be playing at this level.

Chap's got a point....

Of course he has a point. But try saying it on this forum and you will get the champions of the miserable underdog crawling out of the woodwork in unison :p

Its a disgrace. BDesh and the current Zimbabwe outfit.
