Cremer getting utterly carted.

Truly abysmal over - 22 off it including a no ball.
Does the pitch have anything in it at all for the Zimbabwe bowlers? Anybody getting it to move off the seam or turn?

This is a massacre, 210 for none in 34 overs. Smithy 115 off 105 balls. Zimbabwe would get obliterated by any half decent regional team from any of the decent Test playing nations judging on this performance.

Cremer's getting some turn if and when he pitches it.

As I type, he gets Smith - trying to put him into the next province again - top edges the googly that I'm pretty sure Smith didn't believe he could bowl and it goes up and up and up and Masakadza (I think) takes the catch.

A little swing earlier in the afternoon, but no seam movement.

37.5 Cremer to de Villiers, OUT: uses his feet, thick outside edge goes
to short 3rd man, South Africa in trouble now, Zimbabwe sure to
rip thru the rest of the tail now

Thats a bit harsh by cricinfo!

Boo. A declaration at 100 would have been more fun.

Just out of curiousity, has there ever been a test match completed after one day? South Africa could have had a go at that today

He was walking to the crease as you typed :p
:(

Blame cricinfo and the lack of online audio coverage, not me.

Speaking of cricinfo, you know things are bleak when the commentator (and this one is better than most, he actually describes what happens, believe it or not) resorts to lame attempts at humour.

Shortest in 8.5 hours, Australia v NZ, 1940s. Will try to find the card.

Wasn't there a match between the aussies and south africa that lasted half a days allocation of overs but was spread out over three days due to rain
I'll try and find it

Nope - there have been 17 two-day matches, though.

Shortest Test by balls bowled is still reachable...that's 656 balls (109.2 overs) - Australia v South Africa at Melbourne in 1931/32...
