I was listening to the audio live, the noise of the crowd was amazing. Did anyone else see the street parties? Would bring a smile to the face of the biggest sceptic and everyone who thought they shouldn't have test status

I'm not sure how legal this is but it was done by a microphone in paltalk. You can download some Bangladeshi news reports of the moments of victory. It is however in Bangla.

Well had it not been for Mugabe and money issues, most of them would still be available. And most of the current players would not get ahead of a Zimbabwe A or Zimbabwe B.
yea, but the thing is: it did happen

So if half the players of a country have to stop playin due to financial or political issues, it doesnt make the side playing better than Zimbabwe B if such issues didnt happen.

If West Indies player dispute hadnt been resolved, the squad which would have toured would have essentially been a Windies A side though regarded as international. The current Zimbabwe team is basically a pathetic representation of what their actual side could comprise of.

Why if all the entire national squad can't travel it's replacement is called "Windies A"
But if only certain players make themselves unavailable and quality players who would have made the team anyway like Taibu and Hondo, then it's called "Zimbabwe B"???

If all plyers dont make it from Windies, it would still be the best side representin the counrty and would have been called Windies and not Windies A had the such a scenario occured in VB series. Remember the national teams which played during the packer days some times?

The number of players who have made themselves unavaliable from Bryan Strang, Johnson etc to right now have not been only 'a certain' number.

Its not funny how much of player exodus has happened in Zimbabwe cricket from 1999. I can safely say most player in the current team wouldnt make it higher than Zimbabwe B. Some would reach Zimbabwe A but even their captain, Taibu, would be the reserve keeper if Andy Flower was still playing.

These are the celebrations/gymnastics being discussed
Great to see Bangladesh celebrating their victory in fine style !!

You can only play the Team thats put on the park, and therefore regardless of the merits of their opposition, Bangla did the best possible under the circumstances and came away with a win !

May be the humiliation of losing and being handed the wooden spoon and the hurt pride may induce the old fool Mugabe to change his ways and that of his cronies in the ZCU !! Wishful thinking !!

Infact come to think of it I hope Bangla smashes the Zimbos in the next Test also !!

Serves Mugabe's bunch of *****ts a right royal lesson served in style !!!

But that means that they are not available, which was my whole point!

No, it is actually the best available team, no coulds about it since those players are gone.

Or actually, Flower would play as a specialist bat (pretty much like he does for Essex)

My whole point was they arent the best side possible. If I used available, my error but my whole point was there is not much credit to win against a potentially Zimbabwe B side in real terms.

well I suppose congrads to BAN on their achievement - god knows the players deserve it for sheer persistance in continuing to turn up and get smashed repeatedly...........

just to put a slightly different perspective on the relative merits of the victory, aside from my opinion that neither side merits full Test recognition (ZIM re politics & BAN re lack of infrastructure re domestic game - afaic no domestic 4 day comp means they do not place enough emphasis on the longer / Test form of the game)..............

which brings me to my point - the relative Test experience of the sides & players - BAN has been playing Tests since their introduction into the big time, whereas this ZIM side have been fed a diet of limited overs matches since the SRL Tour..............even tho' a number of ZIM players have previous test experience they have no experience of this as a team / squad since SRL...............2 diffierent worlds IMO................

it's shameful that history will show that BAN achieved their 1st Test win quicker than NZL & IMO is representative of the watering down of the quality of such milestones.............

Absolutely.. I hope Bangladesh are absolutely humiliated by South Africa.. They have to appreciate the real victories in cricket are the ones that are deserved..

Word. I dont have a problem with Bangladesh winning as long as its against oponents of some standard..

Shouldn't the cricket community be slightly embaressed by all this??
Yes but I find every one celebrating the Bangladesh win which is apalling. Sure its their first test win but care look at the standard of the opposition?

Compare this 'first' test win with that of the other nations and you will now what I am speaking about.

The value of test cricket gets totally ruined by such stuff.
