Root just spoken very well regarding the strategy of bowling rotation to Aggers. Too high risk to play Anderson and Wood in a game they must win after coming back from serious injuries. All about preserving the career of the bowlers and playing the long game.

I could get it if he?d had a big FC workload and had a niggle, but there?s been nothing said to that effect. And it?s not like he?s a young bloke they?re nursing through stress fracture issues. Seems very odd to me
Yeah, play all 3 in this series then rest him for Pakistan series if he needs it.

I think England's attack is going to be very fast-medium.

Must say I'd have liked to have seen a bit more or greener grass on the pitch.

Not the most egregious of breaches, stopped off at his flat travelling between grounds. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2...-bio-secure-protocols-west-indies-second-test

Was hoping for a Kyle Walkeresque romp with multiple hookers in Mancheser.
It's (apparently) about a 60 mile detour for him to go to Hove on the way up from Southampton, so that would suggest some sort of thought had gone into it.

It's so silly though; if the ECB can afford to charter a plane to bring the Windies players and backroom staff over why couldn't they have got one from Southampton to Manchester? Or even a bus, if a plane was seen as extravagance in these austere, COVID-riven times.

Jofra's been daft, no doubt, but he's a sportsman and not a rocket scientist. One feels the powers that be could've done a wee bit more to mitigate such visits from Major Effup.

Good toss to win I reckon
TMS reporting it's the first time a team has opted to bowl first at OT in a test since 1993.

Hopefully SCurran will make some foot holes for Bess to take advantage of in the 4th.

It's a pretty big assumption to make that he could get through 3 tests in a row given his recent injury record, and the lack of matchplay before this series.

Will be interesting to see if Windies get through this series without resting or any bowlers breaking down.

Wouldn?t want to see the Windies bat here tbh
