Whatever it takes!!!
No Leach too?
It's England. Being the best spinner isn't criteria for getting picked. No Leach too?
In fairness Bess did well when Leach was injured/ill over the winter and probably deserved to keep his place. It's England. Being the best spinner isn't criteria for getting picked.
It always rains in Manchester.FFS, get a climate, England. Raining at Manchester apparently.
i like him. ive been pretty blunt in my assessment of their top 4 for the first game but burns was clearly the best player in it. ungainly, but is up for it and he bats a long time and has performances to show for it.For all his ugliness, I don't think I've seen Burns discomfited even once. He somehow manages to stick around and put bowlers off. If he can push that average towards 40, England will be very happy.
yea, he did a job. i liked him for what he was.I expect that's the end of a very curious 18 months where Joe Denly was a test cricketer. A thought provoking career at least, even if it was an experiment in how far 'not entirely ineffective' can take you.
I mean a Kyle Walker-esque romp would have been far more understandable! Not the most egregious of breaches, stopped off at his flat travelling between grounds. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2...-bio-secure-protocols-west-indies-second-test
Was hoping for a Kyle Walkeresque romp with multiple hookers in Mancheser.
Madness isn't it. Even more stupid given we are 1-0 down and it is Andersons home ground. Ed Smith/the medics have a lot to answer for.Archer. Idiot.
Wood and Anderson. You’re ****ing kidding. One test in seven months and “rested.” Rested for what? The upcoming post-series quarantine? Get in the ****ing bin.
You see you're assuming too much with the last word of your question.I swear, if England don't play Jimmy unless he's a real injury risk im ****ing done with English cricket. Wtf are they thinking?
nah he was made to look pretty uncomfortable a few times against the short stuff last Ashes, but to his credit worked through it and made runsFor all his ugliness, I don't think I've seen Burns discomfited even once. He somehow manages to stick around and put bowlers off. If he can push that average towards 40, England will be very happy.
