Any England attack without Anderson has a bit of a 'B Team' whiff about it, but I do prefer the balance of [2 out of Anderson/Broad/Woakes] plus [1 out of Archer/Wood] for a home Test rather than what they went with in Southampton.

Whatever it takes!!!
More evidence of the rotation being planned as soon as the squad got together. They don't seem to have taken the venues or conditions into account at all, though.

Wasn't there a famous Ashes when Australia named their XIs well in advance or something? was it 2013?

Can't afford to rest Gabriel IMO. He arguably won the last game for them, and I can't see WI bowling out England without him.

Nah we would IMHO. Our pace bowling stocks are absolutely excellent tbh. Chemar Holder is gun. Batting would still be the problem.

We seem determined to gift this series to WI. No Broad for the first test and now no Anderson at his home ground when we are 1-0 down. Ed Smith needs sacking the clueless clown. At least they got the Denly decision right.

It seems like with the bowlers they already decided who was playing where before the series began, even on that basis they still haven’t got it right.

Bravo should've been a Root lite for them by now leading the batting unit. Sad how he's regressed due to off field issues with administrators.

Interesting (albeit only mildly) that when Joe Root original puddinged his missus he would have expected it to arrive during a T20 series against Australia.

looks like a Bond villain

maybe trying to challenge Steve Smith for the weirdest looking of the "fab 4"
Its definitely the hairstyle and his face hasn't aged well. From baby face to bond villain, quite a transformation. Maybe this is his idea of becoming an assertive Captain and make up for his meek voice.
