*Official* West Indies in Zimbabwe Thread

PY

International Coach
37/2

A slight stutter as 2 wickets fall in 5 balls. BCL strides out to the crease.

Come On Zimbabwe......:D (want to see them win after all the trouble they've had)

Memories of England v Bangladesh. :P

Gayle and Hinds gave their wickets away and Lara is out padding up to Streak. Oh well...

The wicket takers are Streak, whos beem very economical, and also *surprise surprise* Price.:)

For all his entertainment, Bowden may just have taken the match away for the West Indies. Poor LBW decision v Lara. The ball would've missed a second off stump easily. Streak over the wicket, the ball pitched outside offstump and continued going away. Very poor...

That was posted before Cricinfo :O

It says: "Streak to Lara, OUT: Got'm!!! pitched up outside off and came in sharply, Lara offered no stroke and takes it on the pad, loud and confident appeal for lbw, up goes Bowden's crooked finger!"

Strange :)

Zimbabwe to win

Magrat Garlick

Rather Mad Witch
C'mon, get Lara and it'll all be over...c'mon Price, you can get another one...please! Streak even! Just get that wicket down!

(and for those that think Bangladesh and Zimbabwe Tests don't count, stuff it!)

And suddenly!!

14.6 Streak to Lara, OUT: Got'm!!! pitched up outside off and came in
sharply, Lara offered no stroke and takes it on the pad, loud and
confident appeal for lbw, up goes Bowden's crooked finger!

Fantastic!

WI 40/3, 66.1 ovs left...

Edit: Hmmm...wonders of broadband I see.

Methinks they could be panicking

15.5 Price to Sarwan, one run, defended to leg for a quick single, appeal for runout, tv called, replay shows Ganga safely home.

All kinds of fun :D

I assure you that it did not come back sharply.

Even in real time it clearly would've missed. Lara ended up showing all 3 stumps and leg' and middle' were visible when he was struck.

On a more positive note, Ganga is great to watch against spinners. He just executed a perfect sweep shot off Price.

IMO they left the declaration too late.

I'd have set something closer to 4 rpo... 360 off 90 perhaps.

Need either Chanderpaul or Jacobs out in next 5-10 overs if they are to have any chance of winning this Test match.

I'm inclined to agree with you Neil (:(), but maybe Streak was worried that if any of the top 5/6 got going they might be able to reach that total. 4 an over has become very much reachable and sustainable nowadays so he probably was thinking about putting the game out of WI reach. Tad negative but a draw is still a good result.

Congratulations to Sarwan. He's earned a place in my nightmares with the third worst shot I've ever seen played in a Test.

The Score: 103/4
The Situation: 43 overs left in play. Only one more batsman to come.
The Game Plan: Bat and keep batting. Defend the good ones, hit the rank ones.
The Bowler: Trevor Gripper - part-timer.
The Game Plan: Bowl around the wicket in the rough and keep it tight.

The Ball: Typical off-break tossed a foot outside leg'.
The Shot: Down the track, big swing.
The Result: Big miss, stumped.

What could drive a player to play such a shot as that? This is Test match which you are trying to save! This isn't an ODI which you are trying to win!

Sarwan is perhaps the biggest talent in WI cricket right now and likely the next West Indian captain. With those antics, it almost makes you lose faith in West Indian cricket.

Somewhere Mark Ramprakash and Ricardo Powell are smiling...

What do you get when you cross Daren Gough with Zoolander?
Andy Blignaut.

Imagine... a male model who can bowl at 92 mph.

Six remaining, last 32 balls have been dots.

Gripper and Price on due to the light.

All the fielders around the batsman.
