Of what I've seen, Mohammed is a very good fielder and he's quite a capable bat. Certainly more than Dillon, Collymore etc. (all bar Drakes).

Lara said that if Gayle can't play, Mohammed will play, so right now I'm torn. :P

I haven't seen him bowl in a year, but he's a useful bowler with the potential to be quite good. He had some control issues in the second half of his debut season, but may have corrected those. He's certainly not the worst.

Lara stated that if Gayle doesn't play, Mohammed will play. By this he meant that Mohammed will replace a bowler, not Gayle himself. It makes alot of sense, because if Gayle is not fit, Lara will need the spin option.

Smith will replace Gayle in the batting lineup however.

Paul Adams returns from injury to replace Robin Peterson in the 2nd Test squad. If he is selected, I suspect Lara will treat Adams in the same manner that he treats most spinners, but his record against Adams thus far isn't totally convincing: Adams has dismissed him three times in as many tests for scores of 33, 14 and 14 again.
The pair have also met twice (I think) in ODI's - one of which was the '96 WC QF in which Lara scored 111.

I haven't seen Adams bowling to Lara on tv or otherwise (though will be able to watch 2nd test), so I only have these statistics to judge. To anyone who has seen Adams bowling to Lara, is there anything for Lara fans (like myself) to worry about?

I am Australian though have lived in Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, PNG among other places - currently in Canberra.
Somehow ended up following the West Indies, probably because I grew up watching the exploits of Lara, Curtly and Co.
