Windies 210/9 now. NZ only need 31 to win at this stage.
I think criticism of Vettori is misguided on the grounds that most people don't have an understanding of how he's been used.Goughy said:If someone weighs 150kg and drops to 145kg its nice but it don't make them skinny. Just saying
Talk about celebrating mediocraty.
Kyle Mills average is down to 44! WoohooGoughy said:Talk about celebrating mediocraty.
I think criticism of Vettori is misguided as no one can ever name a better option, yet a lot of people are willing to get stuck into him. Like a piece of meat I tell you. Meat!mundaneyogi said:I think criticism of Vettori is misguided on the grounds that most people don't have an understanding of how he's been used.
I think the vast majority of those who criticise him are from other countries - usually England, where kiwi cricketers are generally patronised, or viewed with disdain. It's always struck me that although they have more than enough reason than most to bag us, the Aussies usually have the most respect for our guys.sirjeremy11 said:I think criticism of Vettori is misguided as no one can ever name a better option, yet a lot of people are willing to get stuck into him. Seriously, the best alternative I heard was "Pick another seamer". OK. But what happens on the subcontinent? And what happens when we play Australia? Leave Vettori out because even though the Aussies rate him, his average is still not good enough. Hell, I have an idea! Let's get rid of all test batsmen who average less than 39.5, and all test bowlers who average more than 29.5 - because they will all be horribly over rated. Oh, that's right. You can't.
Now it's down to 39.44. What a legend. 9 wickets in 5 tests (admittedly, in one in England he bowled about 11 balls)sirjeremy11 said:Kyle Mills average is down to 44! Woohoo
Oh no. Don't be fooled. New Zealander's also bag the Dan.mundaneyogi said:I think the vast majority of those who criticise him are from other countries - usually England, where kiwi cricketers are generally patronised, or viewed with disdain. I want him to get out. If he doesn't, Bracewell will keep him there for sure.NZTailender said:And please Marshall, don't get out. It's a simple freakin' run chase...

PS NZT, saw Vincent get some of his 41 at Eden Park yesterday. He is not a happy man. But man he was striking it very nice.NZTailender said:Didn't think about that.
Go Powell!
For sure, but I reckon it's mostly people overseas.sirjeremy11 said:Oh no. Don't be fooled. New Zealander's also bag the Dan.
I think he would be. Don't think they'd drop Fulton or Styris for him, obviously, but dropping Marshall for Vincent to open () may be on the agenda for the final test...sirjeremy11 said:PS NZT, saw Vincent get some of his 41 at Eden Park yesterday.
