That is quite bizarre! He hasn't bowled (if you don't count the awful spells in the Chappell-Hadlee Series) for ages.

Um... first two ODIs v Sri Lanka - 3/31 and 1/51. He also took a four-fer in the tri-series final in Zimbabwe not so long ago...

Yeah they were awful. Sad, because I thought Oram at his bowling peak was quite effective, especially in ODI's. I remember Channel 9 covering one of the Aus NZ tests and showing the dots picture to show where he was landing it. Consistent as.

No, to watch the man, he is an absolute shadow of his former self bowling wise. In fact, after the tri series final, he said in an interview he didn't think he bowled that well.

It was an extremely hot & sunny morning here in Auckland, but since then it's started drizzling. It's still very humid though and there's still over 6 hours to go before the match so here's hoping it improves again.

Lol! man that Brendan guy is a little frightening. He should have been a fast bowler. Or a serial killer. Or maybe a weather man. Oh wait...

Happy birthday to Hamish Marshall for yesterday.

My test team...

How
Papps
Fleming
Vincent
Styris
Fulton
McCullum
Vettori
Franklin
Bond
C Martin

Only problem is lack of bowling cover. How, Styris (if his knee holds up), and the four main bowlers...

Ross Taylor is unlucky. As is Astle. I have assumed that Oram will still be injured.

Bowler cover is Mason, Gillespie, and Bruce Martin (ahead of Patel)

Yes it is. Like Liam as well I get some Australian and Asian team coverage. Don't remember which ones though.

Brilliant bowling by Gayle and Smith. New Zealand will lose this if they don't get a hurry on now!
