If Mills was used properly (i.e. bowled out in the first 35-39 overs) his ER and average would be significantly lower than they are imo, and his average is already pretty low.

Mills is up there with the best opening bowlers in the world for ODIs. The problem is that at his pace he will get hit for runs later on, when the ball has stopped swinging and batsmen are lookingfor runs.

Mc**** obviously has no clue how to use him obviously, but 6 overs with the new ball and 4 during the middle stages would normally see him go for 30-45 runs
Agreed on that being the best way to use him, if he's able to bowl 6 overs up front at the same intensity. I don't know if it's Brendon's fault in the way he's being used, or if its simply a necessity borne out of lack of resources at particular stages. Millsy's record would be even more outstanding than it already is, if he'd played with other death bowling options. It's never been his forte, no matter what S.Doull says. I can see Jimmy being a good death option, he bowls a very good yorker but again, the balance of the side is hard to find him a spot in.

Bahnz made a good point as well, we are lacking a 3rd-4th seamer who can hit a length even when it's not swinging and keep an early run rate blitz in check. Obviously Dan is imperative in that respect as well. You'd like Corey or Jimmy to develop into that role. Sounds like I'm riding him like a Melbourne Cup winner but I do see Jimmy being able do that as a guy who hits a natural back of a length, which Corey doesn't. A lot of us would like to see Trent in the mix but again, he only adds to that wicket-taker on their day, very hittable when not stable along with Tim, Mitch, Millsy and Milne.

Not Terrible
A little harsh, IMO.

231 wickets in 162 games is a pretty damn good record. And his RPO of 4.73 is more than decent as well, especially considering the ill-advised "Mills at the death" experiment has been wrecking his figures for nigh on a decade now.
When I say worst best, I'm calling him one of the worlds best ODI bowlers.

However he's the worst of them.

Doesn't Mills do the back-of-a-length role in the middle overs in his second spell (when being used correctly)? Bowls a shorter length than his new ball spell and uses his height?

Albeit only 4 or 5 overs compared to Orams 10.

But if he bowls his full 10 in the middle, while Southee and Mitch open and bowl death. Then that seems a reasonable balance.

I actually don't watch much ODIs, so this is a genuine question.

Mills has always been the worst best ODI bowler IMO.

He tends to have days where he dominates (usually with his first spell) and then has other days where he just gets absolutely pasted and looks village.
Load of rubbish tbh. Along with Vettori, he's been one of our few world class players (at ODI level in his case ) in the last 7-8 years and one of the few to be consistent.

Live chat at 7pm with Munners, Neesh, Milne and Ronchi. Everyone to ask Munners about the wicket-keeping thing so that he takes it back to the camp, even if it wasn't really a thing. Blocky to ask Milne about whether his outswingers are in fact seam, or anything more than randomised flukes.

Found it. His family read it too. I feel bad for being about to post mean things/Watling propaganda.
Holy **** I was not expecting his wife to be posting on it

EDIT:
And it gets better. His mother-in-law as well
